It's quite an ugly jacket anyway. Also the seller told me it has significant mold issues. Also the seller failed to include several pictures of irreparable cracking in highly visible areas - very deceptive. I highly encourage everyone to not bid on this jacket, stay away!
Also, it's a black...
I think it's a Beck, not sure what the actual connection between these two brands was though. Check out this old deadstock Beck. It matches the jacket to a T. Tag label at the neck, stars on epaulets, and belt placement (but this other jacket has had the stars, belt, and tag removed).
Hi all,
This is a really unique Cal jacket I stumbled onto a while back. A standard six panel CR, but what makes it unusual is the two-tone coloring. It reminds me a lot of a Bates racing shirt. Cal CRs are fairly uncommon to begin with, but I don't think I've ever seen one like this...
I measured it tonight and came up with 18 inches at the hem, but I know a previous measurement I had was 18.5 inches at the hem. Somewhere in that range - I can give a picture if that would be preferable.
I have another jacket I'll try to get up here tomorrow night that you might find cool...
Hi all,
I have a couple jackets I'm finally getting around to listing. This is one that's sat in my closet for awhile. It's in great condition with minimal signs of wear. Tagged a size 48 for Leatherman NYC, likely a more recent creation by Cal Leather or Al's Leather. I'll throw it on Ebay in...
It's a Fidelity, a maker from Boston. They rarely have brand labels, but they do have the "This genuine leather garment" spiel tag. Maybe 80s? The zippers look a bit more recent as opposed to all Talons or something.
Any clues to what brand this could be? All Talon zips, partial tag torn off (see the bottom of the collar in image #1), nothing in pockets. Seems to be a modern maker though.
It's a Fidelity, around 1970s. Pretty good jackets, but a bit overpriced for $200+shipping. A lot of sellers don't identify them correctly because they tend not to have a maker label, just this on the inside. Unfortunately, it makes finding them a bit difficult, despite the price. For instance...
Any recommendations for smoothing out a bunch of stiff zippers? Working on some TLC for a jacket that was probably in a barn (very wrinkled, mildew smell, some mold, etc) and while the zippers work, there's a decent resistance when I try to zip any of the zippers up and down. Don't want to...
Ha, I wondered if it was another TFL user. I was planning to stop at $150 too, but then I got the urge to win the auction after being outbid. Happy to reach out if it doesn't fit - my main concern is that the sleeves may be a bit on the longer side, but we'll see.
Have to disagree here. Wrangler has a couple various vintage models that features a zipper and look great, IMO. Although, I think replicating the look with leather is more challenging.
