I introduced my boyfriend to BritComs and I am so very pleased that he enjoys them just as much as I do. We're a big fan of Graham Lineman's work like The I.T. Crowd and Black Books. Oh how I LOVE Black Books. Bernard Black is such a delightfully dark, angry, drunken curmudgeon. You can't help...
...I am a huge fan of Hogan's Heroes, and you're spot on about the commercials going on forever...which is why you need to own the complete series on DVD like me! ;)
I started watching BLOOD ON THE MOON yesterday and need to finish it (got interrupted when the BF came home). I was quite impressed as it was a great story with excellent acting from Mitchum and Preston. And of course, Walter Brennan, who I love in every performance he does.
Thank you! Yes, it's a used bookstore with a *few* rare books; let's just say my proprietor is always looking for that coveted rare first edition, but rarely finds them. He just loves books. And my story is set in a college town - Lincoln, Nebraska - so I think I've got that covered.
But this...
B.F.'s Daughter, with Barbara Stanwyck and Van Heflin. As always, Stanwyck is wonderful. It's a bit of of a schmaltzy film, but I enjoyed it nevertheless.
I reported it to my apartment complex manager and asked if I could say something; she said that they generally encourage tenants not to deal with these problems themselves. She said she would send them letters (My daughter took pictures of the offenders because she was right there when they did...
Trivial...yet really ticks me off:
I moved to an apartment complex in April (selling my house after the divorce and it's time to move on), and two people in particular have seen fit to walk their dog RIGHT NEXT TO MY PATIO and let the dog pee where my birdfeeder is. My dog Blitz goes absolutely...
I fished a bit with my family when I was a kid, but that was about it. My boyfriend has a boat and LOVES to fish, so he's introduced me to a fun new activity. I really enjoy it!
Have to add another one to the list...I currently am reading three books at the moment. LOL
Double Agent: The First Hero of World War II and How the FBI Outwitted and Destroyed a Nazi Spy Ring
by Peter Duffy
Knives Out for the third time. I just love this movie so much. I continue to pick up little odds and ends that I missed upon first viewing. It's just a fantastic script and the performances are terrific.
Weird to see Chris Evans, i.e. Captain America, in a villainous role, but he does it well!
I'll have to post some pics of my upcoming camping trip in South Dakota! My boyfriend and I love it - we stay in a small cabin (which has air conditioning as I can't go without!) and take the boat out and go fishing. Never thought I'd love the outdoors as much as I do, but ever since I met him...
If I had the money, I'd invest in some rare books. As it is, I just have a huge bookshelf full of books I've read and books I want to read. Books are like old friends to me.
