Season one is awesome! Boyfriend and I worked our way through all seasons of Fargo - they're definitely different.
I finished Miss Scarlet and the Duke tonight. Really enjoyed it, and I hope they make another season!
Also started rewatching the 1990s sitcom Just Shoot Me. It's witty and fun.
Thanks!
And actually, that's not a bad idea. I'll put a reminder to myself to try it so I don't forget because my brain is so discombobulated lately that it's very possible I WILL forget.
Thanks, everyone, for the well wishes! Pretty excited, yet also terrified. But here's the thing: if I get into the program and after awhile think, hey, this isn't for me, then there's really no shame in quitting it.
I loved watching "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood." I was fascinated with the Land of Make Believe, King Friday, and all the puppets. And his voice was always so soothing and calming.
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood starring Tom Hanks as Mr. Rogers.
What a wonderful film. It will make you cry, but they will be good tears. Tom Hanks, as usual, turns in an excellent performance, though you never quite believe he's Fred Rogers, but just a really good version of Tom Hanks if...
Another episode of the new All Creatures Great and Small. It's just a delightful, warm-hearted show.
First episode of Miss Scarlet and the Duke on Masterpiece Mystery. I quite enjoyed it, and will be watching more!
Oh, forgot to mention that we have fantastic hospitals here, and we are also only 45 minutes from Omaha which has the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) - (I see two wonderful doctors there) as well as Creighton University Medical Center. UNMC is on the cutting edge of a lot of stuff...
I have to plug Lincoln, Nebraska. It's a small city that has the feel of a small town. Lots of cultural stuff going on here - we have the university, plus a wonderful local arts scene, music, food, museums, etc. It is relatively safe, and the people here are friendly. We do have an airport, and...
OH. Speaking of Scooby Doo, they did an episode where Sam and Dean actually enter the world of Scooby Doo and become cartoons. It was AMAZING. You should totally watch that one! That was one of the few really good episodes of the last few years.
A mystery novel set in 1943 Sicily about a beat cop from Philadelphia who is now an MP and in charge of a murder investigation of a field surgeon. Pretty well written.
Blame the Dead by Ed Ruggero
I once wrote a novel set in 1944 Hollywood about a pilot shot down over Occupied France with his crew who worked with the French Resistance to escape, and of course, Hollywood wants to make a movie about it. I struggled to find books to tell me the inner workings of how the studio system worked...
Thanks! The parallels to today are unavoidable. I'm focusing on two men from Nebraska who wrote and published anti-Semitic/Christian nationalist/pro-German pamphlets during the 1930s. I'm looking forward to diving into my research, but also being back in the classroom. I miss lectures.
