Good score. There's nice stuff made out there for sure. I've seen "fakes" of all sorts that are most probably made in the same factory as some of "the real thing" - it's not unknown for contractors in China to double up on quantities and the surplus once the official order is fulfilled goes out...- Edward

A Zippo for pipe and cigar smokers
Is the butane easy to fill? I spent a fair bit on a nice gas pipe-lighter a few years ago, but I could never et the damn thing to refill enough for more than a single light. User-error, I'm sure, but I really do need an idiot-proof version...- Edward

I've seen the ads. Looks nice, but I'm wary of anything I see advertised heavily on Facebook unless I'm already familiar with the brand. Yeah, the big Japanese repro companies all do a version, as wellas many others. Start at about £15 for the very cheapest on the market, and go up to about £100 (not a typo!) for the big Japanese labels! -

I don't think they, as a group or individually, offered anything particularly innovative at all. They were, of course, very popular and clearly lots of people wanted to listen to them, so. Nature of commercial pop music, I suppose - it's a world where the validity lies in the sales.- Edward

I've always thought that in part it's to do with what folks actually wore back then. A lot of modern productions, even when they get the details perfectly right, the giveaway that these are 'modern' people dressed up is that often they look like they're wearing a costume.
