That purple liner is *glorious*!
My one big gripe about almost every production hat I've owned is the default white liners. Sure, black and the other darker shades pick up grime too, but it's so much less obvious. This may affect me more than many round here because I balded young and have...
There's a lot to like from the 70s. Too modern an era for me much of the time, but those first two, as with a lot of stuff made then, could pass for a few decades older. The joy of that is they tend to be much more affordable (and less fragile, so much more wearable) than actual 40s stuff...
Just ordered this one on Etsy, to arrive post-Christmas. Had it sent to the office, something to look forward to on the dark day needs must I return there.... ;)
A UK-made version of the USAAF B2, except in black. It'll be interesting to compare it alongside my ELC B2. I'm not especially...
I really like this! Very classic look to it, like 1930s hunting gear. Nods to military field jackets while remaining identifiably civilian.
Love this! I'm a big fan of this more subtle style of Western gear. Would be fab in a heavy canvas with a shearling or blanket lining too!
I do like a vent pattern like that on a felt hat. Not something you see at all often now, but really ideal for those 'in between felt and straw' days when straw isn't enough but felt is just too hot...
Whatever version it is, if it's all intact with no damage / holes / excessive wear, USD300 seems a pretty good price against what they're going for on eBay now.
Not by sight.... if there's still a tag in one of the pockets with the date of manufacture on it that might help - it's a very long time since Connolly was available, so after a certain date it won't be.
CXL is not the only steerhide available now, of course - there's also a midweight steer...
The Aero looks great - which hide is that? I am working towards getting myself a couple of Shackletons, but I definitely want them with a leather back and not wool. (Truth be told, for most tings I try to avoid wool where it's possible, having had one too many things destroyed by moths over the...
It'll find its own, new equilibrium of course. The real upside of ecommerce, imo, is that it allows for specialist businesses that otherwise as bricks and mortar affairs wouldn't have the reach to survive on physical custom alone, but online with access to a global market...
@Hidenseek - Mandarin is right here. As a spouthpaw myself, I've also given this some thought, and dismissed it for this reason. Course, I also don't use the pockets on the front of a bike jacket - for me they're just for decoration mostly.
If you want a D pocket that is more accessible to the...
Great jacket. I had a cafe racer for a bit years ago. Bought it around 2005 for wearing in to the office (bit more subtle than a Perfecto style....). Never bonded with it, just didn't work with a collared shirt for me. Last couple of years, though, I've had a few t-shirts that *aren't*...
Given Vanson designed these to be actual motorcycle PPE, I would expect the waistband being on the actual waist rather than several inches south of it is very much deliberate.
Great review. Interesting comments on the sizing. I've been keeping an eye on these guys for a bit; in a year or two, I might take the wife to Copenhagen for a long weekend and work in a trip to try on a pair of these... Nice to see something of this quality and style being done at this side of...
It's pretty standard in all sports commentary here - especially wrt England.
The one that always cracked me up, though, is how everyone non-English in sport is "British" to the English commentators - until they lose, and then they're Scottish, Irish, Welsh... For years I knew if Andy Murray...
I have very little familiarity with ZZ Top's oeuvre, but huge respect for Billy G. He's well known for going out of his way to support and champion new and younger talents, mentoring and encouraging. There are plenty of people in the music world that see emerging talents as a threat, as...
I have a pair of Lennons I bought about a decade ago. A very lucky find on eBay - someone bought then never wore them. Mine are the B5 ww1 boot, but in a smooth black leather. Lovely boot to wear, and if you prefer a less pronounced toe, you'll definitely like them.
These ones look great too...
I thought that there were more of them about, but likely it's just we're just being shown them more via the algorithm that targets the ads to the viewer.
