Very random question, but my McCoy's N1 came with the drawstring cords undone. I'm trying to tie them similar to what's shown in the photo, but I cannot figure it out. I'm literally useless at this moment.
Can anyone explain this to me?
Thank you! I'm very much looking forward to wearing it out in the wild.
I had the IH N-1 for a brief moment. Fantastic jacket, but I already had a McCoy's in the same color and ended up returning it. I may try to pick up a black IH sometime in the future (Although the Freenote Mariner in black...
I thought about sizing down since the measurements between a size 36 and 38 aren't extreme. However, I didn't see any size 36 models available at the time. I also think the 36 may have presented similar issues to the Buzz Rickson I originally purchased before the McCoy's. It looked pretty...
Hi everyone,
I snagged this McCoy's N-1 after the Buzz Rickson ended up not being a fit for me because the armholes were too small. I loved that Buzz Rickson and actually liked its shell fabric better than the McCoy's, so I'm a tad bit sad it didn't work out. That's not a knock on the McCoy's...
Hey everyone,
I just had the sleeves shortened on my McCoy's N1. I posted a link to a video in which the tailor explains how they performed the alteration. Essentially, they opened up the seam on the alpaca inner lining, shortened it and then re-attached the storm cuff, sewed it back up, and...
It looked higher up when they were marking it off in the shop. It might have been the angle in the video, but I suppose if it comes out and I need further alteration, they'd be able to do so.
I'll make sure to ask about keeping the excess materials, including the alpaca. They told that they've been doing this their entire life and if they couldn't keep the integrity of the jacket, they would have turned down the job. I'll keep everyone updated on how the finish product turns out.
I asked them about tapering and they said they did not think it would be necessary. However, I have until Thursday to make any additional requests, ask questions, or cancel the job. They quoted me $150 due to the nature of the job. I'm not sure if that's DC pricing (everything here costs more)...
I'll post one last item and let the thread die out since I think I've received all the info I currently need (a big thank you, especially to @CatsCan ). Since we were discussing how the sleeves would be shortened on a jacket like this, my tailor sent me the following video explaining their process:
No, I realize that. I wanted one of each--an olive drab, like the version you sent, and the civilian in blue, similar to what BR produces. I'm going to grab the one you linked.
I actually wanted to "slimmer" jacket to get the more fitted look and with the intention of limiting what I wear underneath. If I had it my way, I'd wear tees all day, every day. Circling back to that, it makes me feel a bit better about the fit.
Originally, I was going to have the a2 as my...
That looks about right to me. The tailor did inspect the entire jacket (pulling the sleeves inside out, etc.), and he seemed to indicate the final product would have the storm cuffs placed as they were originally.
