What was the road to your fit nirvana? :)

I prefer a worn in look but not a distressed look that hasn’t been achieved naturally. I don’t do anything crazy in my leather jackets but I sometimes scuff the sleeves, the front, the back, hit them with the wall by accident, ride my motorcycle, stain them with grease, water, stuff them in the...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I haven't paid full price for my Eastman ones either. They're very expensive and they have raised prices over the years just because of Brexit looks like and when the pound took a hit so it feels a rather inflated price for the same quality product. My two 3/4 lenght leather coats have small...

Ask a Question, Get An Answer About Outerwear

Regardless of any of this shipping from Spain is EXPENSIVE , very very expensive compared to what other countries pay using the same couriers across Europe. I use Packlink usually and try to find the best rate but most of the time it is very high. It's not strange to see +20€ using Correos or...

    Explaining the Aero Fit.

That’s not always easy to do. I go by measurements but size tag always plays tricks in my mind anyway.

    Fine Creek Leather

My only concern with certain makers is that the best designs in my opinion do not need any uupdate when it comes to the pattern. In fact I think that most of the time they do a diservice to the jacket altering the pattern and the fit of the jackets. To me a Motorcycle jacket must be short. A N1...

    Fine Creek Leather

People tend to put makers on tiers based on price but that’s not the whole story. There’s a lot more to it than pricing.

Photos of cool jackets owned by others (non-brand specific)

Fakealpha have been around since the 70s-80s hunting vintage so not surprised to see they have the knowledge and the connections to find cool stuff in deadstock condition when it comes to denim and other garments. Have a listen to Larry, I was like what?! The stories he tells about the days of...

Sizing questions Aero Leather A-1 jacket

Have you guys tried Aero's A-1 jacket? Because advicing to size up sounds like a very bad idea to me... I have one at home and no way he is going to need to size up. @dudewuttheheck can comment to that too. It will look boxy and like a sack of potatoes if he sizes up being a 40. I was a size...

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

And then you get played by the seller and you're put of luck because no protection for the buyer. I don't recommend that at all just to save some fees... Eastman jacket...

Heller's Cafe did a Grizzly just like this one with patch pockets.

Buying jackets on Japanese auction sites

I always end up paying more that way and you don't get to choose courier. I prefer to ship it to the warehouse and then combine shipping or ship individually with DHL. By the way sometimes they give you coupons to remove the fees for example or % of discount to the final price.

Tradeoffs - Himel Bros vs. Freewheelers?

I'll try to get photos with the camera to show wear and the hide, I checked quickly and I can see chipping inside the cuff and regular fading outside. I do think it's deerskin and AFAIK the Sunset is always made in deerskin, just black or "yellow" . I have no idea when the jacket was made...

New! ELMC Jacket Highway Star®️ Horsehide

I saw a 38 size for 500-600€ and I passed because of the flare in the waist mentioned here a while ago. This one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Eastman-ELMC-HIGHWAY-STAR-Black-Leather-Biker-Jacket-Size-38-RRP-1199/254785712156?hash=item3b5269701c:g:q-MAAOSwkTxfchdq Maybe I shouldn't have passed...

    Vanson Padded CXL Commando

First of all, my condolences and I'm sorry for your loss. I'm glad the day wasn't made worst with a wet and damp jacket by the courier poor service. That is a fantastic jacket and it shows that you have experienced fit in so many jackets because you nailed it. It looks fantastic and once it...

Tradeoffs - Himel Bros vs. Freewheelers?

There’s so much variation in leathers when it comes to these brands. I don’t think my FW Sunset leather or lining is the same as @dudewuttheheck ’s one for example. Or at least it doesn’t look like it to me. Probably because as I recall there was a Bootleggers era pre FW?

Buying jackets on Japanese auction sites

Where do you live? Every single item I bought from Buyee has been stopped at customs in Spain. EMS or DHL doesn’t matter. I just choose DHL because package arrives in 3 days and I make the payment through Online payment when they send the Email/SMS . I can’t be bothered anymore to wait weeks/a...

    Sheepskin and roominess for layering

They were intended for flying at freezing altitudes so not surprise to see people find them too warm. I was wering today a wool cardigan(thin one) and a leather coat with wool liner with sateen lined sleeves at 5 Celsius and I was sweating when walking to work. Can’t imagine how people wear...
