    Thank you all for giving me your input. Spoke to RMC and I ended up keeping the jacket. They were willing to take it back, but not send a new one. I’d rather keep it than sending it back to buy a new one with the risk of getting one with similar or worse marks while losing money in the process...

    You are probably right. I don’t know it just felt bad to see something like this especially when it’s the second jacket I get from them that has issues.     It does bother me because everything else about that jacket is so great and the fact that this is the second one I went through because the first one had a faulty zipper (which blew my mind).     You are probably right, just didn’t expect to have an issue like that with such ab expensive jacket. That was my biggest worry. If the leather would be weaker due to the scar, so thank you for the replies!

    I mean the leather doesn’t really feel thinner or anything where the scar is, but it being a weak point is definitely a worry for me too.

    Prone to failures as in the leather being weak were the scar is or due to failures as in the scars are there due to a failure from the tannery and cutter?

This is the answer I got back: “For the jacket, they do not recommend replacing with another model as the hide used in your jacket would be considered A grade so would not be an outlier...

    Thank you very much! Stitching isn't everything either. That's overrated tbh. The reason why I went for the RMC J-24 is because I thought was the closest to the orginal. Fit over maker any day though. The 613 and 618 from Schott are amazing patterns that just fit.
