My Schott 141 (42") has a back length of 27" ( albeit it was a 1969 design and the original Fonda jacket was 4" extended beyond the zip to create the "Captain America" jacket - I've actually handled an original jacket from the movie at LOTM and it was super long almost 30" I'd guess .. almost...
I have to say you guys like your jackets short .... if you leaned over to reach the bars you'd get a right draft in yer kidneys ! The Photoshopped version looks much better IMHO. Sleeves are spot on but I'd prefer about 1 1/2" - 2" in the length unless my name was Jeffrey Ross Hyman. Then I'm...
I hate waiting for stuff ....... especially waiting what I consider to be unreasonable amounts of time e.g. 24 months .. by that time I've changed my mind 27 times and will have sold whatever I would have bought :)
As John Lever once siad "There's no such thing as a keeper !" and I've yet to...
Simmons Bilt would do it, as would many of the small bespoke M/C jacket repairers e.g. Rachel Dobbs at Dobbs Leathers in Northampton, Bikers Paradise in Coventry, Bison ( as mentioned above), Hill4Leather, LancashireSportsRepairs and many others. I've had work done by SB, Dobbs and Bikers...
Have to say my experience of modern repro hoookless zippers ( Aero are not the only ones who fit them ) has been poor ( 2 jackets ... both sold on ... there's nothing worse than a jacket that unzips from the bottom up when it's not supposed to or is so difficult to get right that you end up with...
Yup .. lots to like ... sleeve zips on sleeve top, 2 way zip ( and not a No.6), "proper" overlap collar, yoke alignment with sleeve seam, 2 part sleeve, tapered cut ........ all good ... I'm starting to REALLY like what Thedi are doing ... that little bit of uniqueness makes all the difference :)
Highwayman Leathers in the UK ( part of the Lewis Stable of brands prior to the use of the name by The Transatlantic Clothing Company) did some OUTSTANDING quilted leather finished M/C jackets .... their Ricarde Deluxe that they did for Rivetts was a much sought after jacket in the 70's and 80's...
I have the forcefield pro-shirt and shorts ..... although I prefer my draggin jeans to the shorts and I usually remove the chest protector from the pro-shirt just for a bit of breathing room under my jacket :)
Not cheap but the most comfortable I've found...
Have to say I've been unimpressed by both BR ( Navy XL) and Pike ( Navy M and Marle Grey M) .... stiff cotton ( thick and medium weight but much lower stretch than current cotton sweats and quite inflexible and uncomfortable especially in the collar and body). Add to that the inconsistancy in...
Really depends what you want it to be .. the "fashion" on here and elsewhere is short and neat ( neat meaning small ( just covering the belt) / tight ( fitting like a 2nd skin) ... if thst's what you want then this is 1 size too large. I've had a few CR's ranging from tight "Insurrection fit" to...
Depends what you are looking for .....
East side of Regent St. is always good for Filsons, Vintage Levis, Red Wings and various other hipster brands.
Further up Shaftsbury avenue is the inimitable "American Classics"
Near to Kings Cross ( down a cul de sac and up some back stairs) is Lewis...
