I don't have one but Schitzo did have a AL Dakota in Kudu. I had samples of it and it was similar to AL's Oilpull Steer with a Matt finish and quite a tough appearance. When I bought my custom Indiana last year it was between Kudu and the Mongolian HH .... The Mongolian won but there wasn't much...
It's as much to do with personal pref. as it is to do with style.
To me it looks an inch or two short .... I certainly wouldn't want to be on a bike with something that length. Sleeves look fine but the body and back would irk me somewhat :)
A number of members on here tend to wear their...
For me there is no such thing as one leather jacket ..... I seem to lurch from 10 to high teens fairly regularly ... I'm currently at 14 ( having just sold two Schott's and an Aero ...... but also having just purchased an Aero B-3 and an AL Dakota in Black Goat ) ... my oldest Repro is 25 years...
On the basis that " if you don't ask, you don't get !"
I ALWAYS ask ( I never expect ...... but I always ask in a polite and non aggressive manner :) )
It's got nothing to do with being gentlemanly, or a lack of religious support of the seller .... it's simply the basic rule of commerce...
AL medium weight black goat straight out of the box today - Black Goat Dakota purchased on their Outlet page on Tues ..
nice and pliable and almost the pertfect weight ..... :)
Another vote for Renapur ..... If it's in really poor nick Ka Cho Line ........ If it just needs a light condition jefferies leather balm ( fat based) or Belvoir.
Pecards is distillate based and I'm always a little wary of petroleum based products on leather based on feedback from a number of...
I'm 5'8" and have had 3 Barnstormers .. they are great jackets and I think they look fine. I never used the belt ( it was always fastened at the rear).
My preference was always for the VDR / Lavant car coat style and (I currently have 3 of these) and I moved the Barnstormers on .... I don't...
The older Aero "Big A" Aero zippers ( from the famed knitting needle manufacturers) was a GREAT M/C zipper and must have been at least a No. 10 equiv..... indeed I'd be so bold as to suggest that anything less than a No. 8 zipper is useless when using gloves for MC applications.
Hookless...
Std AL zips are Talon No. 6 ( not sure if it's called a No. 6, size 6 or just 6) ... or Talon No. 8's for heavier duty e.g. Bike Jackets ( in chrome, brass or antique brass) - the No. 8 Talon has a custom AL slider with a bigger puller ( I have this on my brown Roadster).
The RiRi's...
Alas I fear it would be a little snug for my liking, I like my jackets to fit rather than constrict .... after all they might shrink or something :) !
As an aside, I had no idea my request for no fit comments generated so much interest from the elder statesmen of the FL :)
Great jacket...
Equally I've owned Aero (3) ELC (2) and LW (1)
My favourite is ELC ( Fit and quality ) .. closely followed by LW ( Stu's sheepskins - especially the B3 and ANJ-4 - are amazing and the only reason it's not first is I found the sheepskin a bit heavy and unweildy) .... there has been nothing...
I have gone through a number of phases in my jacket collecting ....
In the early days ( early 90's) I was collecting originals ( military, Motorcycle and civillian) ... prices were relatively cheap and I was using magazines like Loot and Exchange & Mart, car boot sales and used clothing...
if it's grain you want don't discount The Aniline CXL Bison ....... I don't have anything (yet) in the brown .. was really looking for a russet. But this is the black in my Detroit .... it's wearing in AMAZINGLY ( and is also available from Aero)
