I will be updating when I find out from aero if they will sell zips and if you ever see zips that are to long shortening open ended and closed zips is easy if even a person like me can do it.
This shop in Japan for YKK universal known in Japan as old american aslo some talon.

The 5# zips are closed not open so
only of any use if just want to order the cheapest one to get the puller.
I have tested on regular YKK zip and they...
Thank you to Canuck Panda for this link to a shop in Japan, I spent days trying to find zip links and I never found this shop.
"I finally found a place that will do custom Waldes for retail customers (all types of Talons, Crown, Conmar...etc)"
If you were thinking of just buying a puller from...
The cheap Chinese made talons you see on ebay, be aware the brass ones are just thin gold plate on silver you can see the photo of one I filed down, they do copies of ideal and waldes as well so be wary of what you buy.

I will start this off with YKK, if you have a jacket that has had the zip replaced or came with an ugly looking pull they do some nicer looking ones.
Changing a pull is very simple and easy to do. If you can't find anyone selling the sliders on their own it is still can be cost effective to buy...
Not yet, I am on their books though with jackets I have bought, I just thought it would they would be expensive but maybe not, what I am think of doing is creating a new thread named were to buy repro zips and putting it in the important threads sticky. I'm sure a lot of us have know places...
Riri ain't my style but along with ykk probably the most reliable longest lasting zips you can buy, when you see the prices on the ykk universal and how cheap they are and the shop can still make a profit it shows the crazy mark ups on other repro zips. I will probably ask for a quote on the...
British zips on foreign jackets and roughly dating Australian jackets.
A lot of you already know but some don't so don't assume a vintage jacket is made in England because of the zips.
Aero and lighting were the biggest British manufacturers and their zippers were widely exported to British...
I tried looking at lewis leathers before but could not find zips on their own but doing a search for lightning zips on goggle this came up.
The front zips only come in 10# so too big for me the #5 sleeve zips are cheap.

Thats the shop I was talking about in my post , but all the zips are close ended for bags so you can only use them for pockets or sleeves because thats a leather craft shop, I bought some long zips just the get the heads. They respond...
I meant the whole a complete zipper, I can't stand modern looking pulls on a vintage jacket, sometimes old pulls will work on a on ykk zipper, I have two jackets with trashed tape beyond repair.
YKK universal zippers question
Anybody know if there is anywhere who will sell you a YKK universal zipper [known in Japan as old american] on its own without them doing the zip replacement as it's just too expensive to do that with two way shipping costs from Australia, after fruitless hours on...
New without tags Buzz Rickson's wool USAAF stadium jacket.
Size is tagged as large and is too big for me, I'm a 40 I think its around a 42.
Somebody asked if a 5" patch would cover the letters and it does but I would still take the letters off if you want to do that.
The USAAF letters appear to...
