I've been on the hunt for an older black Bates CR w/ white stripes for years at this point. Of course when I find one it's a 48. Gah! .. Of the ten or so CRs of theirs that have passed through my fingers this one is easily the cleanest with the most uniformly thick, heavy and <black> leather...
It is sewn, Daniel and I did include above a (small, seller's) pic of multi celled label (643 block). Looking for lot# was what I was fretting over in reply to Ross. I think, if sweat was not sewn, that'd be pointing to an even earlier hat no? Here's another seller pic of size tag, which I have...
Rescued this old dog as it was my size. Looks like I'll be digging through forum archives to get up to speed on filling moth divots ... at least sweat's in great shape. Initially I thought hat was an Arminto (which'd be number three for me) but compared to another, crown's not as tall and brim...
This Fidelity has been lingering on my local CL for literally 1.5 years ... getting cheaper and cheaper to boot. Finally caved and rescued it a few days ago. A 40 (i'm a 42) so fits nice and just a little trim.

Gator, The Longest Yard, Deliverance, Boogie Nights ... So good!
This is ridiculous (w/ a very young Paul Franklin on steel...
This Cal-Craft I recently traded Ton for has Cajon blackened zips as well. The zip side that's aligned w/ outside of jacket is more blacked than inside which makes me think it might be some kind of overspray. 1st pic "outside" zip, second inside.
Really enjoyed looking through this thread! Only hat I have that <might> qualify is my dark horse Borsa La Fuzzaro. To be perfectly honest I've always been afraid I was blaspheming by putting this bash to this survivor but I've never felt comfortable rocking what I consider the more typical...
