Thanks! That is exactly the information I have been searching for. The Royal is just under 5" open and the Premier is 5.5"., but same quality. Thank you for your time and effort....Dennis
Well, because it happens consistently, I will guess it is my head. Either that, or, America is being sold hats with crooked crowns (doubtful). It is a problem that is more prevalent than most people realize, IMO.
I don't buy straw hats that are pre-creased because of this. Guatemalan and...
I am thinking of purchasing a Stratoliner. Is there a difference in quality between the Amazon offering Versus the Ebay offering (other than a pre-shaped crease and stiffener)? One is a Premier and one is a Royal.
Royal...
Akubra "The Outback". This is a hat I have never seen before. (Not to be confused with the "akubra outback club"). I have found it for sale only in Germany (sold by some Australians there, super nice people to converse with). It is sold on Ebay by: the-australian-way.de They also have their own...
Stefan, it's official, your Borsalino has made the top of my 'Hat Of The Month Club'. A very entertaining hat. Thanks for sharing. May I ask, where you found this beauty? Ebay?
Stefan, your command of the Borsalino history is admirable. It's a good thing you live so far away. I would probably be knocking on your door asking to see these hats up close. :)
Wow, those are really amazing fedoras. Borsalino felt. I am sure they are soft. You are one lucky guy. Knowledge is power. Now I know what names to search for. Thanks!
I wish a conformateur would fix my problem with a crooked crown. I have used them twice before. It does fix a poor fitting sweatband and brim, but it still leaves me with a crooked crown. Doomed to fold my own dents. Actually though, it's a skill that reflects my own likes of how a crown should...
Am I alone? I believe, I see it a lot here on the FL.
I have to adjust the pinch of the crown dent away from over my right eye and then place it over my nose (center). All new hats off the shelf are misaligned for my noggin. That is the reason I got into making my own hats over a decade ago. I...
Wow, that's interesting. I don't think we are alone. I see it a lot here on the FL. I am just the opposite. I am going to post more discussion of this topic (leaving your name out for privacy) in the Ask a question thread. Check it out.
Thanks guys! No hurries, no worries. Part of savoring a favorite hat is the search. :)
I did find this company, it is in Venezuela. Not a good idea to order from Venezuela right now I believe.

Hi Alan, that looks great. That looks soft! I have never seen that hat before. I am guessing there are more than one. I am interested in finding a silverbelly borsalino felt for myself. I can fix it up. There are no modern day models for sale, right?
