Thank you!
Not answering for A-1, but his jacket might not be fading asymmetriclly. Might just be like that nekked woman in the Fable of Miss Toodie Green.
This morning, I’m wearing a 1964 A-2 deck jacket...maybe the earliest A-2 I’ve seen. Like flight jackets, deck jackets often wear their histories on their backs. The badly faded stencil on this old A-2 testifies that she once served aboard the US Destroyer Reeves. Interestingly, the Reeves...
Yes. As you probably guessed, looking comfortable in a “full-time” motorcycle jacket is a bit difficult for me because it really is a stretch from who I actually am...or at least who I’ve been for the last four decades. I’ve always admired those with the persona associated with the...
Yes, I’m having fun posting in this thread.
Ok. Tell me true. Does this suck, or no? Yes, it’s an inexpensive e-Bay purchase, but it’t made of nice, thick cowhide...and it’s warm and comfortable...and I think the fit is pretty good...but...
Well...I see all the young guys in this thread...
I struggled for years to find a comfortable cowboy boot. Went through several brands and sizes before I finally tried Ariat Stockmans. I simply ordered my normal size...11 D...and they were a perfect fit. I have two pairs now. One in steer and one in deer. Love them both.

Nice vintage M-65! I have a 1970 with an aluminum zipper, and so far, I’ve not had any trouble with it. I generally use bee’s wax on stubborn zippers, but I’m not sure it would work any better than gulf wax. Might be worth a try, though.

Well, now. We both love Martin OMs...we both like slide guitar and we both have early 1900s, oak rocking chairs. You suppose we’re somehow kin folk? :-)
Thanks! And I do love Martin OM guitars. I have a few acoustics that were more expensive than my OM-15, but none that are more played. Hands down, this is my favorite guitar.

In the low ‘fifties, today, but the strong, wet north wind makes it feel much colder. Vintage buffalo-plaid lined Trucker and a ‘70s OR. And a 1930s square-necked resonator that I’m struggling to master.

I retired a week after my 60th birthday. I liked my job, but it was a fairly high stress occupation, so I decided it’d be best to go. I believe my chances of living longer improved as a result of my decision.
Nowadays, I practice law as a hobby, rather than as a living. Basically, I handle...
Thoroughly enjoyed that! Thank you! As you know, Strange Fruit is an old Billie Holiday tune. What makes the song especially poignant is that Holiday wrote it during a time when lynchings were still occurring...especially in the South. As to my signature, it’s actually part of a line from...
