This sort of question has been asked many, many, many times prior.
While I appreciate the spirit of what all you have been asking with these sorts of questions, perhaps the better approach is to run a thorough search on the topic, and study what has already been discussed. It is quite rare...
^^ If you have a way to visit these, may be worth calling ahead (physically call the store and ask what they have In Stock - not what the website says) and try a few out.
To the OP - this is just what you need - under arm "footballs" that help with movement & flex.
A shame this occurred as you indicate.
Hope you have it resolved by now...
My recommendation is to get to a place you could try them on, which may be difficult to do if you are based in North America. I've never handled either of these manufacturer's jackets so cannot personally comment on impressions. LL do have a substantial history, so there's that, but recent...
At first glance, I thought the OP's jacket he was interested in had been baled.
Then I opened & zoomed in on the photos and WOW! That's impressive - nearly identical to Mr. Proper's CR. That's some very impressive creasing, way more than patina.
"Recycled Leather" could literally be anything. Very difficult to tell what it really is.

Years back in the furniture industry there was a trend toward "powdered leather" that was used to make an inexpensive "leather" covering for...
I am all for some good thick leather, including CXL SH & HH. That said I have "softened" a little in terms of my affection for these, in particular. They are like a weighted blanket - secure, comforting, in the right conditions, but can be awkward.
I personally have made other adjustments...
Too Big.

Jacket is nice but it's cinched up as tight as it will go (see side adjusters) and that actually does not help this jacket on you. I would look for one closer to your size.
Perhaps not a "taboo" but a lost art - the giving of Thank You cards after Christmas, weddings, graduations, etc.
Or maybe it's just the we have all found out - what do we do with all this later in life? :)
Much cooler photos that I posted of the Bates. :)
It's getting quite warm here (87F today) however soon I may search out a better place to take the tripod-mounted shots such as you're doing here.
