You can get waterproof palladiums (I think they do around 50 different styles/colours that are waterproof) and in the past they have done specialised hiking boots although I don't think they currently do any, I always consider them to be a more comfortable...
You've done very well here, fit is perfect and I prefer the pockets to the standard Plainsman pockets, I specced these pockets on my Stockman and have never regretted it.
