I live in the Pacific Northwest, and I wear pretty much all my hats outside all the time. I have several Akubras and Stetsons, and they all do great in the rain.
I guess I might not wear a nice vintage fedora if I really cared about possibly damaging it, but all my vintage hats are already...
I’ve built up a modest collection of Hawaiian shirts - all from thrift stores. I like the silky ones alright but greatly prefer the cotton ones. This is probably the one that gets the most wear, just a simple Penney’s red shirt with nice buttons and hidden guitars in the design.
The problem is that belts are just not that great as a pants holding device. There are always annoyances with a belt.
I wouldn't tighten it so much that it hurts, but when I wear a pair of high waisted trousers with a belt there is definitely a sense of relief at the end of the day when I take...
This is a vintage style cotton/linen blend button up shirt, marked XXL but fits like a US Large. I’ve worn it twice, but the sleeves are a little too short for a tall guy like me. You can look at the original item and size chart here...
Dude, you have so many options. First place you should check out is the Mister Freedom store in Los Angeles. They have a ton of stuff. Also like Blackadder said, the RRL store is great.
edit: I will just add, I would always recommend just trying stuff on. Especially at the higher end places...
Where do you live? There is usually a good vintage store in basically every city in the US, the best thing to do is find something you like and then if you want a new repro version the internet and this forum can be a good resource in finding a match.
Well, I didn't "need" it, but The Hattery still had a Deluxe in Silverbelly and since it's discontinued and I love my Campdraft Deluxe in Cedar Brown so much, I pulled the trigger.
Now I have a couple weeks while waiting for it to arrive to decide how I want to shape the crown...
I finally put that bigger ribbon on. There's probably an easier way to do it, but I just kinda made most of it up as I went along. Pretty happy with the result though.
Thanks. I used this in the 1/2": http://etsy.com/listing/784854180/brim-curlers-v2-by-randal-alan-made-in
I tried the first version he made and they didn't work at all. He was nice enough to send me v2 also when he made that and it worked like a charm. All of the brim curling tools I've seen...
Finally found a good affordable-ish brim curling tool and finished shaping my hat. Started off as an Akubra Woomera, now it's this.
Next step is putting a bigger ribbon on it, which I have no idea how to do.
