A barf worthy rip off of an appropriated pattern

That is more interesting in a way, it is a coat with typical MC detailing, not a jacket anymore. As an experiment it is interesting. But I think it would be more interesting with buttons instead of that long zip.

Good point :) No need to be nervous, we are just sharing thoughts here :)

A barf worthy rip off of an appropriated pattern

Yes, of course, brand cachet is much more prevalent outside of the forum. We tend to be more pragmatic overall in this forum. Nevertheless, I had felt there was a trend to look for brands even here. Hence why I have been harping on just choosing a top end leather that is the best fit for oneself...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Careful with sizing, the patterns evolved with time as far as I understand. And they are indeed the most waterproof jackets I have handled :D

A barf worthy rip off of an appropriated pattern

It is always better to discuss of course :) These thoughts you quoted came from reading what @Aloysius wrote earlier, didn't think too much about it, but in any case, let's start with "prestige", it can be interpreted in many ways both positive and negative. For example, last ski holidays I...

Not sure this distinction counts... where do you put Himel? He uses shinki, gets good fits in general, but his construction is inferior to Japanese (as per his admission in an older thread). The Background . . .

I used to take pictures wherever I could prop up the phone until I was given some advice . One point being taking them outdoors. I now take them n the same place most of the time. I try to have back, front and side pics as standard to give an ide of the jacket. And then when they come out well...

London Outerwear meetup 8th of December - Epilogue

So just as a quick update, the 23rd of April is fixed for the meetup. We will tentatively start with a visit at Lewis leather like the first time and go for a long walk to visit shops in the West End. I also need to know who would like to go for dinner afterwards. We will have to book...

    Lost Worlds Speed Demon

Not generally my habit, but this jacket ended up with a friend. It fit him better than me, it was clearly his jacket more than mine. I will get another one for myself at some point :)

Footwear to go with our jackets

For those who own western boots, who would you recommend for hand tooled leather? Looking at something of the sort, these are from Heritage boots

    Sam Walker Highway Man

That is spot on! Short of a label you can trust, there is no way to differentiate between cowhide and horsehide and sometimes other animals...
