And comparable in another important feature that perhaps I failed to mention…THE PRICE. I’m disappointed that the Black Stallion thing didn’t work out for me but I don’t know if I’m $2500 Lost Worlds disappointed lol.
Arnold, yes what I was getting at is that with both the original BS and 1928 being made by Schott, the fit, hide, hardware, manufacturing process and overall look and feel of the jacket would be the same. I do agree that some other models match up closer on design features though.
I think the first third of this thread was excitement about the new Black Stallion based on the assumption that Schott would be making it again (since Legendary was using pictures of the jacket that Schott produced for them to solicit pre-orders).
The remainder of this thread then turned to...
I sent an email to Jason Schott asking him to please re-release their awesome 1928 D-pocket jacket in horsehide. Gave him a little update on the Legendary USA Black Stallion saga. We’ll see if he gets back to me.
Legendary has updated the cover photo on their website to the new jacket and has a fast moving montage of it on their Instagram. The glamor shots where you actually order one seem to be the same pics as before.
Would it be safe to say that the collar on the 613SH is stiff enough to not be flapping around too much at speed on a motorcycle? I was kind of leaning towards the sleeker no underarm football thing, but the no snap collar creates another thing to think about. Theres a side of me that thinks the...
This may end up being an embarrassing question, but it appears that the 613 line of jackets have snaps on the lapels but not on the collar itself like the 118, 618 (and other variants). Am I correct on this one?
I’ve had some pretty effective convertible systems on jackets that were made for snowboarding and snowmobiling so I appreciate the concept. The one on my 141 was just better on paper than in actual use. I think there’s a reason that many of the used 141 and 641 jackets are missing their liners...
I think I’m going with the 641HH as well (In a 44). I currently have a 141 in size 42 so they should fit about the same. I really like the naked cowhide on the 141 and mine seems to get better looking every day. What I don’t like is the zip in liner arrangement. It feels kind of weird when it’s...
I think the “double” might be their profit margin. Schott can put out a horsehide jacket for around $900 or could re-release their own d-pocket and sell if for (at least) $1200. Unless you really needed the work, why make one for somebody else and wholesale it to them in the $450-500 range?
I check in on the Legendary site everyday to see if they’ve changed the Hillside and Schott pictures yet. They haven’t. I simply can’t wait to see this jacket. Good or bad, we’ll never forget the return of the Black Stallion.
I just got a note from Legendary saying (paraphrasing)
Sorry you had to cancel your order. Sometimes something changes on your end and sometimes it’s something we did or a matter out of our control. Anyway, we want to make it right so here’s a 15% off coupon.
Obviously, they did nothing right...
There are several features about the Caf1 that I prefer over my 141 and (at some point) 641hh. I like the two front chest zippers better than just one and there’s something familiar and cool about that bottom panel on the back of the jacket.
The one thing that I can’t seem to embrace on this...
I’m in sales. Things don’t always go my way. Win or lose, I always try to be gracious for the opportunity to present my case, respectful of my customers‘s concerns and appreciative of any business they‘ve done with me in the past. This isn’t the case with everybody.
I’ve spent at least $600 in...
A few quick shots of the Legendary Beck horsehide vest (cut). Could very well be the same leather that the Stallion will be done in. I’ve only had this vest about a month so its just beginning to get broken in but there is some nice character and grain starting to emerge.
Gang, I’ve been planning on doing a full blown review of the Beck vest. My daughter has a double header today but I’ll at least get a few good pics on this thread when I get home. If this is in fact the EDSIM horsehide, I think at least that aspect of the new Stallion will be acceptable to the...
After a little minor back and forth, my refund was also approved. I mentioned my Beck vest several times thinking that Kim would say that the company they had make the vest is also making the Stallion this time around but she didn’t. She did say that the pictures of the actual jacket would be up...
