Nice later model Strat - especially in black. I agree on the 1960s date, but I don't think the extra liner is the original, as that logo is one I believe predates the hat. Cool liner, though, with the mesh on it. What is the open crown height, or is it factory pressed?

I have some hats that are only decorative, not certain about Mallorys specifically.
You could always pull the cord down and make it a stampede string, LOL.
For a fixed button trolley, you should be able to unloop the cord from the button and affix that to a button on your jacket, as opposed to affixing the button to a spare button hole.
I have Mallorys that are both configurations.

I am so sorry for you and Mrs. Edward. It sounds like you were the answer she needed to her needs, and she yours (even if you didn't know it right away).
Adam was known for their affordability and advertised as such. I only own a couple, but I believe Executive was a higher quality.
The ones I've seen are pretty nice, though.
