I think the the horizontal pockets are exactly what make the work coat: they kind of break the flatness of the long front panel and pair nicely with the vertical yoke. They are also handier to use for storage than slash pockets, and deep enough to stay closed and protect items inside from rain.
I wouldn't take this in a bigger size as the coat serves me well as it is and makes a sharper-looking option for the office days. I also have other ones with better mobility when that's needed.
Thank you. The photo doesn't quite do justice to the Brakeman as the collar looks wonky and I wear the coat usually buttoned up, making the upper section to fit more neatly. That said, I really like the work coat and I also think it fits pretty nicely.
The fit is a tiny bit restrictive tbh...
As said, the collar is soft from the neck and feels comfortable, but yes, it's still sharp in the front. Doesn't bother me and pairs pretty well with the stiff-ish hide, I think. The collar design and the hide also give the coat a tad more formal look compared to my FW Brakeman:
Mine is made in 2016 and has been well used ever since. The collar has corduroy on the flip-side, and it's completely soft on the neck, but still pretty stiff/sharp in the front.
Great coat for the colder seasons, and I'm really liking the mid-weight Battered Tan HH and the Melton lining...
Wow, looking good there! Really happy that the piece I sought long after found a good home, and was a great pleasure dealing with you @Tom71.
After seeing these pictures, I think I could have been able to live with the snug chest fit, but combined with the shortish length, the jacket just felt...
Thank you. I can wear it open, esp. when having a light-ish shirt underneath, but it's a bit too snug when zipped up.
@Tom71 here come the measurements (in cm, not in freedom units):
P2P: 57 (1-2 more when stretched)
Shoulder: 50
Sleeve: 63
Back: 62
Drop me a line if you are interested...
I'm really liking the leather of the LL as it's not comparable to anything else I have owned, LL's other sheepskins included. The Flying Dominators are also the hen's teeth, so I'm very reluctant to admit that the chest is mayhaps too tight.
I'll measure it for you anyways Tom later today.
