In the movie, Tom's leather seems more "waxed" and oiled than new...but of course I cannot say if that is photography/lights/effects or a specific leather treatment to pop the jacket out of the screen...I wouldn't say it seems new, at all
Movie theatre here in Italy....and, yes, pretty sure that Tom's leather is legit and original (I have a 50s Hercules and waiting for another)....nothing to be compared with that new Schott "repro". The costume designer said that he was mixing old legit stuff with new ones heavily customized so...
Exactly! Yesterday evening I finally went to see the movie and I was absolutely sure to have seen exactly THAT Hercules on FDL...here it is. I know that the costume designer, Erin Benach, did a great job in building several versions of the main jackets but the one that Hardy is mainly wearing IS...
Yes, you know....only people that love authentic items and care about details "care about those details"....for all the others mass market is easy to reach with all the marketing fads and copies. We are lucky to have a platform like this, to share our passion
I want to thank AERO Leather for changing the main zip for free (not even charging the shipping back/forth). This new Universal seems pretty solid and absolutely in style!
Very nice customer service
Ha ha ha ha...that would be ridicoulous....No, of course. I am saying thay the horsehide used by Aero is unique, I do not find that texture/weight/shine anywhere else...And I am not saying that that is the best, is just that I am personally in love with it. Clear enough? Sorry but I am not...
Maybe I am ignorant...I travel around the world visiting stores, I work in fashion since 1995, I have many friends who are makers and designers, I buy leathers since the 80s so....I guess I know a little...I am saying that imho I have never touched/seen a leather like Aero's FQHH in other...
I totally get your point BUT....I cannot find the beauty of Aero's CXL FQHH in any other new product. And I am not saying that "they are the best, period"....but if you are (like I am) so deeply obsessed with that hide and texture since the '80s it's almost impossible to find an alternative. So...
Here my last Vanson (thank you lounger Bobby Schneider!)..a cool, basic Bandit. I truly love this model for the simplicity of it...a neat, functional CHP, no exotic details, no funky pockets, no shiny leather, no drama at all... just a biker's everyday loyal companion. Good ol' piece of leather!
Update: I am in contact with Aero's staff and they are proposing a pick up of my Windward for replacing the zip with an Universal...Let's see how it goes but I am happy about the quick and positive answer from their side: no issues were raised and everybody was very kind and supportive.
Surely...
I agree with you...I have become good at repairing the male pin issue but I am still facing the (typical in Aeros) issue of "getting the slider inserted into the male pin" due to the small dimension of the zip and the leather's bulkiness
Thank you for your insight. I agree that older zip were better and that #10 are amazing both for bikers' jacket and "civilian" ones...I have a Thedi Grizzly with a #10 on and it's something else. I will ask Aero to replace my zip, I hope they will do it for a low price
