I’m the posting for the Brown jacket it shows the original receipt….
He paid 730.00 for it, brand new, just 3 years ago!
Sheesh… I’m glad my money’s are earmarked for my track suit repair…
Until I find “the right” tourist trophy I’m very happy to sport an old Hein Gericke “Paris-Dakar”...
I can't seem to make a link work, but there's a big Vanson Highwayman on ebay with 24 hours left and a starting bid of 250.00 with synthetic fur collar included.
If you go to ebay and search for Item number 295551800590 it will come right up. Seller is "yesbabyvintage" and they werenquicknto...
Oh I know! I grew up on Cape Cod and I've been the Factory a couple times. I remember the first time I thought I couldn't possibly have the right address! Snaking around some old industrial area with smashed out windows... But no, there was the big yellow door!
They've had to reduce staff...
That’s awesome, I’ve been trying to get a response for them to repair a racing suit, but I got a vague “we may not be able to patch that”. If it’s not repairable, that’s cool, but I’d like some to at least look it over before making that determination. I’d pay them to replace the section if they...
You would kill it in a Vanson Hardcore Highwayman. It’s a double rider with a laced back, and no belt. IMHO the D pocket gives it a cool 40s 50s look. I know you said you aren’t into the cross zips, but it would fit great off the rack and even if you bought brand new would cost less than 800 bucks.
Quilting and Firenze can be specified independently of each other. I have two Highwayman (Highwaymen? LoL) both are Comp weight and only one is quilted. Unless it's been changed Firenze always has a "midweight" tag to ID it.
Thank you for confirming my thoughts. They’re both well made, and I really like them, good quality for sure.
I’m trying to reduce petrol chemicals from my clothing and I had assumed the liners would be all cotton on all variations, since a change in the materials seems pretty significant. But...
Another thing to keep in mind is that the type and degree of finishing can vary a bit when talking about top grain leather.
Please feel free to correct me, I'm not a tanner, but Full Grain is uncorrected hide while Top Grain has been sanded to remove imperfections and inconsistancies...
Older jacket, the seals have worn off but you can see remnants if ypu have it in person.
The hang loop is ribbon, and "the original barbour tarten" tag is a little different, and stitched down on all sides.
And the different tags.
My personal feeling is that production changed a little...
Hello!
This is the second A7 I picked up, I like haveing a spare of difficult to replace items. My first dates to the year 2000, and that's my basis for comparison.
The build and details of this are THE SAME except for three things. I'm postibg pics of the newer build, if you'd like to see the...
I always fugured people were pretty much the same size, but the larger jackets were worn more so they didn't last. A size 44 or 46 jacket could easily keep your son or daughter warm for years even if it's too big. A small jacket would get stored away. Big jackets can be worn by smaller people...
I don't have any vodka in the apartment, but after that jacket had hung in the shower for a bit, I went in and could still smell the perfume.
So right now it's out on the fire escape getting snowed on, and in the morning it switches over to rain. It's hovering around 33 degrees so I can't...
I'm going to start doing the same.
But meanwhile I'm going to try hitting it with vinegar rinsing it in the cold shower, another vinegar spray, and then hanging it to drip dry.
All right, well vinegared, cold rinsed, and revinegared. Dripping overnight and we'll see what the morning brings.
