    Show off your Porkpies

Putting aside the hyperbole ('premium'), it's still a wool hat. As such, I don't know how formable any of it will be, with or without moisture, as wool hats have not been real good at holding their shape, at least in my experience. And I've never met a wool hat that didn't shrink up at least a...

What's your favorite, most psychologial-impressive movie scene??

In revisiting this thread (due to a new post notification), what also struck me was not only the fragment of the statue and its general overall condition, but where it is lying, or rather, what it is lying next to. Anyone who knows New York City knows that its geography does not include...

Technical features, you can really do without?

I drive mine all the time . . . until it snows. Then he goes to sleep in the garage, usually about 3 months, until the season is over. The biggest problem we have around here is the HCL-like solution they put on the roads to melt the snow and ice. It eats up unprotected metal like nobody's...

Technical features, you can really do without?

With my wife it's the opposite. 'No a/c, no me.' My car generates plenty of heat, but I tore the whole system out, from the knob to the the heater boxes, and rebuilt/replaced/refurbished them - cables, linkages, and hinges and flaps in the boxes. But she just doesn't like the shall we call it...

Technical features, you can really do without?

That's one of the reasons why I bought the bottom line model of the last car I bought for myself (in 2015) - no touch screen. It was the only model that had simple buttons and twisty knobs for audio and air, on the center console of the dash. It's also one of the many reasons I will not...

Technical features, you can really do without?

Our new 2021 vehicle has at least 3 of these types of nanny systems (that I know of). I turned them all off, and the one that I have to turn off every time I start the car has become as automatic as starting the car.

    Akubra Capricorn Review

It's been touched on here slightly, but can these hats be wholly reshaped? I am not crazy about the details of the shape of the crown and would like to widen it and narrow the front a bit. I have a few straws -- some are shapable with water or steam and some are not. The Capricorn is not...

What is your favorite hat crease?

In its prior incarnation, this Stetson had a diamond with a slightly domed center for the top of my melon. While attempting to widen the humps at the top of the front crease (successfully), the formerly round dome, where the U is now, turned into this: I'm not sure what to call it (heart...
