There's been discussion, both positive and negative, in various places about the new SNW episode 'Subspace Rhapsody.'
In short, I thought it was brilliant.
It had the potential of being wrong in so many ways, but was woven together to combine character history and development, while serving...
Yes, this an old thread, but I have been debating with myself as to whether or not remove the reed from one of my Akubras.
I have taken to wearing it back on my head. The issue is that because I am 'follically challenged,' it leaves an indentation at the top of my forehead where the weight of...
Color choice is completely subjective.
Of the five or so choices available for a Fed IV, I have brown, carbon gray, and Tawny Fawn. I never wear the tawny Fawn although the other two get regular wear.
Some say the Heritage model is better enough to justify the increased price. For my first...
I think it's a refreshing change, so long as it's mixed in with some more traditional Star Trek-style episodes.
Look at the ToS trible episode. Quite frivolous, yet one of the most mostly positively talked about episodes in the franchise.
Tawny.
I've taken photos of my hats. Most hats' colors are different depending on the camera (phone), and location - outdoors, indoors - type of lighting in each room.
And even with the side by side comparison pics, the TF in your photos is a different color than the one I have in my hand.
Note to all: be very wary of any online pictures. Cameras and computer screens can do strange things with colors, especially hues.
Well, please let us know when this happens so I can tune out of this thread because I don't do theaters anymore. I'll wait for a home viewing opportunity.
The main danger with this idea, imho, are the nods to earlier films, which in itself is not a problem, except when they nod in the wrong direction.
Example: in ToD, when he goes for his gun in his empty holster, his facial expression is a nod to something that didn't happen yet in the timeline...
We watched ep3 of SNW a couple of nights ago.
I tell ya, this series gets better and better. It could be the best of the franchise. I am actually excited for each next episode, and TV generally hasn't impressed me in years.
The acting, emotion, writing, variations of what could have been...
I am glad that Mount's Pike is more of a 'character' though, with actual dimension and emotion, which JH had neither of in the pilot. Who is to say, though, whether or not he would have developed if that version of the series had been given the green light?
I just don't understand the concept of cross-gender characters.
Regardless of whatever actress is picked to 'replace' Indiana Jones, she and her character will never be Indiana Jones, not because of Harrison Ford, but because Indiana Jones is a man. There are just some things that can't be...
Also keep in mind that today's audiences wouldn't tolerate the cheeseball sets and effects of 1960s sci-fi TV. As previously pointed out, the producers of SNW have threaded that needle very well, the balance between old and new, in all respects, imho.
I have often thought that T2 was the best of the franchise, which in itself is unusual because sequels to successful first films have a lot to live up to.
