A while back I bought two caps from B! Wear. It has a leather sweatband. I paid 40+ for each. This one has only been tried on. It is basically unworn. I will let it go $30 +shipping. Good luck!

I received a bottle of Bowmore Scotch whiskey from a colleague....so tonight it is a Thistle cocktail from the Duffy book:
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1/2 Italian vermouth
1/2 Scotch
Stir well and strain.
Nice and smooth.:)
.
Tonight it is a Metropolitan. I don't know why I have never had one. They are wonderful. Similar to a Manhattan....but smoother.
It won't be my last....in fact....I think I will go mix another!
.
Another from Official Mixers Manual 1934.
Oppenheim Cocktail
1/2 Pony Bourbon
1/4 Pony Grenadine
1/4 Pony Italian Vermouth
I have never heard of the "Pony" brand...but I made it with my usual brands. It is somewhat like a Manhattan. The grenadine takes the place of the cherry...

From Official Mixers Manual 1934.
Attention Cocktail
1/4 French vermouth
1/4 absinthe
1/4 gin
1/4 creme de violette

Tell us which vintage bar books you have. You can include modern books about vintage spirits....as long as they're good. ;)
Old Mr. Boston 1935 & 1972
Official Mixer's Manual by Patrick Gavin Duffy 1934 reprinted in 1940
Bartender's Guide by Trader Vic 1948
The Old Waldorf-Astoria Bar Book...

I have owned several of both. There is no comparison in quality. G&B make military grade flight jackets. Peter makes costumes for actors to look good on camera. If you are tight on cash, Wested is you answer. If you going on a real adventure, go with the G&B.
Several years ago I bought a deadstock Resistol fedora from Art. The thread has disappeared in one of the crashes. Here it is today:
This was inside:
I have only worn it a couple of times.

So...tell me about Tom and Jerry.
Tonight it was my standard Marker's Mark Manhattan. It is just about the perfect cocktail for me. I like trying different drinks but I always come back to it.
