D-1 here for me in the UK, had an early Irvin type from ELC but moved it on due to lack of wear. Just too warm much of the time if you are moving a lot whilst wearing one. Shorter fleece on the D-1 has proven more practical for me. I’d love a B-3 but it wouldn’t earn its keep. When the temps do...
FB have just started putting testosterone pills into my feed too! How did they know that was broken? Has the Wife been telling tales….is there nothing FB doesn’t know?
They certainly do have me pegged & any suggestion made in the comments box that the products are less than genuine tends to get a ‘you have violated our community rules’ response from FB which gets a ‘why don’t you police your platform Properly’ from moi…absolute hotbed for robbers it is &...
On the note of scammers, Facebook is in full flood in the run up to Christmas, Irvins for £100 and so on and so forth.
A little bit of electronic digging usually shows them up for what they are & the fake accounts stating the wonders of the product in the comments box.
As well as leather...
Looks great in the photos, I’ve got a D-1 which will take a shirt & medium thickness sweater without issue. Bit of a balancing act feeling comfortable but not looking like a sack of potatoes.
I wore a C-3 over an A-2 and it worked well.
Original aim had been a C-3 that I could wear as a gilet or under another jacket.
Issue I had was that the C-3 fitted well over an A-2 but was a bit big as a gilet.
I have now sized down in the C-3 department & it makes for a stylish gilet with...
Picked up an ELC Monarch recently & have been very happy with current pattern and fit. Hide shows grain, pockets work, zippers fine and it’s broken in quite nicely showing some character.
Had a RW years back where I always found the hide too ‘flat’ for my liking & have had zipper problems in...
I have a fantastic cape skin A1 flight jacket from ELC, took the Wife out to a restaurant put the jacket on the back of a chair and on picking it up to leave found oil stains (presumably olive oil). I tried several things, sent it to a couple of specialists & it made no difference. I then...
I’m a 46” and size up with my ELC A-2’s to a 48 to get the fit I want because of wide shoulders. I currently own two and am very happy with them. There are differences between contracts including measurements so it’s worth knowing what will or won’t work for you. ELC are very approachable by...
B-6 & D-1 can be stylish practical options but not as warm. I had an ELC Irvin but found it too warm and impractical here in the UK & went down the D-1 route after moving the Irvin on. Pockets on the D-1 comfortaBly take my phone and wallet.
Go to the HPA website and look at Eastman’s A-2’s there. Charles measured up all the contracts they sell and gives the info on the site. I’m broad shouldered & chest so buy the contracts that were more generous in those areas. I did try the very tailored A-2 look which got compliments but was...
Big Eastmans A-2 fan here and a modern size 46“ chest. I now size up to a 48” to get a comfortable fit. The A-2 appears to have differing measurements depending on the contract. Being big in the shoulders and back I go with Roughwear or Monarch variants to get enough room. Charles HPA site is...
The deerskin worked IMHO on the Trucker but I wouldn’t recommend it for anything else based on personaL preference on drape . I had a goatskin G-1 that didn’t work out fit wise but the leather was good.
Think it was a tad under £300 in all if my memory serves me which isn’t guaranteed. Deerskin Trucker..very nice and well made, identical clone of the denim type 3 jacket I sent. It’s worth getting in touch with Shawn on FB for a quote.
