London Outerwear meetup 8th of December - Epilogue

Quite likely, can’t make the London meet because I’m down there next weekend for a couple of beers. Two weekends on the trot might not go down well at home. Devon for a day shouldn’t be a problem

Just spoke to Eastmans & they are more than happy to accommodate an FL visit. Said they will need a weeks notice to ensure staffing.

London Outerwear meetup 8th of December - Epilogue

I did mention a potential FL visit to ELC when I spoke to them recently, would of course need to give them adequate notice and agree a date. Speaking to Rob again this week so I’ll ask how it would work best.

Can a older men wear a motor( double rider) jacket As a fashion jacket?

I have recently discovered ‘denim doctors’ who specialise in jeans repairs. My banged out Pike jeans still look banged out but since surgery have no major holes or rips. The same process has been applied to my duck canvas chinos..same result. Will post up pics some time..very clever repairs that...

    New Aero B6 too Tight!

If you are not happy I’d consider moving it on, I wouldn’t try and stretch it. Had this a couple of times recently myself where it’s unlikely to work out and experience has taught me to recoup what I can on them, re-evaluate, move on and have another go at getting it right. This approach has...

Vintage MA-1 jacket: genuine Alpha Industries or fake?

Not Alpha and not service issue would be my thinking & best guess would be a ‘knock off’.

    Dentist Woes!

Bit the bullet and went for implant surgery a week ago on a front incisor. Tooth was broken in an accident as a child and had dodgy crowns since until it was eventually pulled and replaced with a partial denture. Anyway, got fed up buying denture paste & sticking the damn thing in every morning...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Looks really good on you. My 46 was always picking up compliments but was restrictive & felt like a straitjacket zipped up, the size up to a 48 certainly worked with the Monarch which allows for a light sweater underneath. That seal hide on your RW is stunning.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

What was the issue? I’m a 46” chest with ‘swimmers shoulders’. Years ago I purchased the RW in a size 46 and after years of ownership eventually admitted it was too snug and moved it on. Replaced it with a russett Monarch contract in a 48 that actually fits well. Liking the seal brown of the...

Has anybody seen ____ around Lately?

It’s a hobby so unless you are beggaring your Family I wouldn’t feel guilty. Sized down my collection to those that fit well and do get worn at some point. Shifted the wardrobe queens and nearly rans. All seasons are covered but the madness continues with new arrivals & those on the drawing...
