    The Bowler or Derby Hat

Battersby first quality bowler. Size 56 (I think) with the brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 13cm. This hat has a had a tough life it seems and has been mucked about with. The brim binding is is not original as it is petersham ribbon and done poorly likely even glued (!). The sweatband is reeded on...

    Christy's of London

They do offer a beaver felt hat in their current line-up for €655, so quite a bit less than $900. I was not impressed by the quality of the hats I've seen from them. I suspect $900 can buy you an excellent custom.

    Show us their hats!

Good you have found that pic. It shows the local traditional dress of Volendam, which stood model for that completely fictional thing called "national dress". There's a specific art to stiffening the lace only mastered by a handfull of women these days. It is called a "hul". Here's a pic I took...

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

This is an easy one: this hat was made in 1982. The labels with the hyphen between the numbers upper right were in use from 1976 and 1983. The first two numbers before the hyphen are the year of production.

There was an auction for a NOS box of those crease clips in the UK. I bought that box. Haven't seen any since.

    Post New Hats Here!

I agree with all of you!:D No extra light to be shed I'm afraid, at least not by me. Haven't handled one. The ones I've seen on auction sites look indeed to be American made judging by size label and liner style. Very cool hat and equally cool find.

Sorry to hear that, Terry. Certainly not the way you want to spend any birthday. Hope you feel better soon.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Thank you, Steve. Well spotted; I took inspiration from an old Mossant hat bow and asked Fleur to replicate it.
