I think the vast majority of Walter Dyer jackets found online are at least real leather, but the real good stuff is vintage. I want to say the original seller said they bought it in the 90s? Hard to find much information about the history of the Walter Dyer business online, but the hearsay on...
I had one in size 36 before I sold it. Amazing pattern and fit, but FYI, the shell isn't real leather - it's more like synthetic sofa leather. If you examine a cut edge of the leather inside one of the pockets, you'll see the shell is made of two layers stuck together, the inner layer is some...
Cool jacket, but I'm wondering if that is that is circular patches of mold/mildew on the front of the jacket. This coming from Portland, Oregon makes me suspect mold. Very wet, mild winters in Western Oregon are perfect conditions for mold, and anything stored in non-climate controlled...
Electric Leather Studio X Mushmans - Daredevil, size 36.
I've been searching around on and off on Buyee for a while to see if one of these became available in my size, and I finally got lucky. The fit and cut on this is pretty much spot on I think - feels good unzipped and fully zipped up, and...
Semi-regular queries on Buyee Japan Auction, Mercari, Rakuten, etc with search terms like "Electric Leather Studio" and "Mushmans". New listings are pretty uncommon, but at the same time, it seems like high end leather jackets are tough to move in the Japanese second hand market, so they tend to...
Electric Leather Studio - Daredevil, size 36.
The postage stamp size images are all I have for now. If this is a good fit, I'm throwing all my other jackets in the trash. Well, not really, but there is some stuff taking up closet space that I've been meaning to sell or rehome. :)
Isn't making 10 jackets instead of 8 from the same amount of hide the definition of corner cutting? lol, I'd rather advocate for a quality product for the end user rather than the company's bottom line. Context matters here. The way I see it, if you are willing to pay 2k for a custom or...
I'm with @ton312 here. Scars are cool to see and add character. The pock marks are just straight-up a clicking error - they're unsightly, and something I typically see in bottom of the barrel, mass produced leather products.
[Edit] - Actually I'll amend that last statement. I've seen leather...
Electric Leather Studio - Twist.
Finally! Took an extra week to arrive because Fedex held the package and insisted I fill out a "Importer Identity Form" and provide the missing details for the customs declaration. Leather is horsehide per the label - no idea what kind, but it's really nice...
After doing a little more research, I think Canuck Panda was referencing Blackened Brown Vicenza - which actually is a teacore leather. The variety I was familiar with was brown or burgundy Vicenza, which isn't a high fade leather at all. I attached an example of wear in Blackened Brown from the...
Very fast. I may have shared these before, but here are some pictures I took of my Bill Kelso Duke in Liberty Horsehide. This might have been after ~1 year of wear? Vicenza doesn't fade very quickly at all in my experience.
Hey Mark, I'm not exactly sure what I'm seeing in this picture. Is it the leather cracking, or otherwise having structural issues, or is it the top coat flaking off? The top coat on CXL isn't very thick or robust, so I just thought I'd ask.
[Edit] - Rather than make a new post, I want to...
No experience with Badalassi, but I currently own an Aero black FQHH chromexcel jacket, and I sold an Aero Seal Vicenza jacket a while back. The chromexcel fits well, but the jacket is oddly heavy and warm, and like others have commented, takes a little while to 'warm up' and become flexible. I...
Had a rare "jacket weather" day today. So I snapped some picks of the Cal-Leather café racer I got a while back. Maybe a little large on me, but I think it still looks good. Some of the cotton stitching on the elbow and shoulder pads was failing, but I re-stitched those areas using the original...
Killer jacket! I think it's like a slim size 36 based on the measurements, so a little large for me. I pretty much assume the chest measurement is low by at least a half inch at this point, so it looks like 17 in shoulders and 20 in chest to me.
