That's good to know, I'm thinking it has better range of motion and shoulder comfort to other heritage brands since LL is a motorcycle jacket specialist. Looks real slim and am imagining very pleasant to wear compared to other hides you have/had before.
Congrats on this, this is really very...
looks like it didn't work with another member who tried it first. I want to try one of these one day but that jacket does not have a good taper from the chest (19.5) to the hem (19) so I'll leave it alone for now lol is the back length on this on the longer side for a modern size 36?
Amazing jacket and the story how you found out about it and how it got to you doorstep and to how it got treatment just shows how good the community can be. Congratulations on your grail jacket, the jacket waited 70+ years to find its perfect fitting owner.
Thanks @jonesy86 its a flattering fit
Thanks @dudewuttheheck im lucky this works for my frame. Too bad the Mulholland doesn't work for you anymore but the Bodie looks great on you
Thanks @sweetfights it feels like it too. It feels slightly smaller than my brown Mulholland. the shoulders is...
Thank you!
You know it man. Still not sold on the dangling zipper pull they used but it's just so nice overall. Thank you, it does feel to fit slimmer in the shoulder/sleeves but maybe because it's not broken in yet. It is new, from Genco.
Did you buy from their website directly? The standard measurement they make is all over the place so a lot of us here order by getting in touch with Shawn to give out detailed measurements and details etc,
Thanks man! Love the 2 new vintage jackets you just scored! Is the urad cream good for both chrome and veg tanned stuff? Love how the shine it makes after a treatment
It is the king of the hill no doubt and I'm still in awe of it all and still hoping/waiting for a brown Cal to come my way lol...
I am not ready yet lol I thought I was ready for it! I'll wait a while to get it fitted a a fur collar but it will most likely get one at one point. Rust might be the way to go for this as my FL J24 already has a brown collar
I already knew it was going to fit well but so stoked to finally have this in black vintage. Now for the break in. This is a heavily waxed shinki with light brown core. The hide is very smooth grained unlike my brown Mulholland that has very pronounced grains. Very different to the full aniline...
Nothing like a good Cal lol or a replica with good leather is welcome too! The quilting does appear to reach the collar from the front but maybe an inch shy on the nape area. I was a little unsure that's why I didn't pick it up but Lucky buyer who got this then.
Price wise even with the zipper replacement and sleeve alteration it would still have been reasonable but I had my reservations too and good thing I didnt pull the trigger right away lol thanks
that still looks so brand new. what's so different with that leather, is it waxy?
Surprised no one snagged this yet. Could this possibly be a Cal cafe racer? I've never seen one without the fancy 6 panel back.
@JMax @TooManyHatsOnlyOneHead can you guys pls chime in if this one is a Cal or not, might be a good punt if it is lol
