Dating Vintage Stetsons by Liner: A Field Guide

What vintage is this Stetson? I'm thinking 1970's early Hatco era. Notice that there is no branding on the sweatband.

Thanks for being the first to step up TJ! The transformation of the Knox hat was nothing short of miraculous. Everyone has different taste in their styles of hat shapes, creases and profiling. All I can say, from my point of view, is the styling on your hats is some of the best I've seen.

Since Resistol already coined the name Stagecoach I guess I'll have to refer to it as a Western Flat Top Bowler.

Thanks for letting me know; perhaps I should delete this thread and start something more specific to just hats from the Old West era?

    Western, anyone?

Yes, it is very similar to the Pale Rider hat, with a little bit more flare at the crown. P.S. Great Jimmy Buffett quote.

Bell Crown hat made by Tim Bender of TP&H Trading Co. with a pencil roll and black bound edge, 2" sweat band, blue satin liner, plus a black leather hat band made by John Cody. Mid-1800's style if my memory serves me well.
