Thank you, Marc, really appreciate it!
This jacket is the same I fitted on March. Still there since then...
The main zip was replaced with Serval, so I can't figure which zipper there were before, a #5 Talon? It's missing a ring-pull on one of the pockets, but other than that, it's complete...
What a pretty jacket! I love it. Judging by the black YKK zippers, it's a mid-80s Cal. Is it me, or this is in mint condition? I don't see scratches on the hide.
I look forward to the day when I come across the chance to get a Cal straight-zip.
Cal tagged as "Women's leather biker jacket"... That's all, title and description. Seller asks $90, in Santa Barbara, CA. FB Marketplace
*Sofa and floor not included.
Me in a vintage store's fitting room. They had this precious for sale, unfortunately it was 900€ or so.
I just tried it on and, meanwhile, tried to figure how to escape from there without being discovered. But no way to run away, the fitting room was in the inside corner of the shop, haha...
Your collection is, as always, awesome. This leaves no one indifferent.
Ok. This makes it more interesting! I wonder how much were RP jackets back in the days.
Thank you for sharing this shot, @tmitchell59! Wow... the price of the Top-Notch was $123 in the 1950s (which is equal to $1400 nowadays).
I've found this caption from Rin Tanaka's book "Motorcycle Jackets: Ultimate Biker's Fashions":
Wow! Is this a Top-Notch by Ralphs-Pugh?? I see corduroy on the collar. Amazing jackets! I had the chance to try one at a vintage store. Unfortunately, they knew what they had ($$$), so I left it there. Of course, I placed right the hanger, because of someone's carelessness, who put it...
Absolutely. In my case, I should lose some weight to wear it zipped up while I'm driving or sat somewhere.
If I see anything that may work for you, I'll let you know! ;)
The last Cal I bought is labelled size 36, and it measures 20" p2p. The good thing about this is I leave the laces untied, so I can wear nice even zipped up.
