    That hat is from 1976. Borsalino hat were dated from 1974 to 1984 until the factory moved to its current location. Amiata is a gray color.

    Dr Gamba is the family owner of Falcus. They are the only ones producing felt hats at the moment in Italy. Sad what has happened to the two biggest companies in italy for felt hats.

    Here in the USA, there has been a total stop of hats from Borsalino and Cervo . We are watching very carefuly what is happening with both companies. In the case of Borsalino , it was the mismanagement of the former owners that caused the company into the situation that it is in now.

    Ruby was an interesting person. I had the oppurtunity to buy from him a while ago. He was a good person and owned one of the last cap factories in the USA.

    A good year would be around 1985. That was the time when Borsalino moved from the old factory in Alessandria to the current location outside of town.     That hat is an American made Borsalino from Bollman . They produced those hats around 1987 to 1990.
