Great jacket! Luckily I know how beautiful this jacket is in reality! Your photos indeed do not capture that well...[emoji6]

Haha, that’s the perfect description of the size difference between Europe and the USA (and an Americans view on it) - compared to the US it is so small that you can actually plan a Scotland trip while the rest of the family is visiting the Eifel tower [emoji28]

That’s the beauty of leather and denim. Everything else basically becomes “worse” the moment you start to wear it. Suits, sports wear etc. but leather and denim are the complete opposite!

That’s exactly how I interpreted your reply :) I did not find it overly critical at all. I am more than thrilled and nevertheless looking forward for the break in.

Normally I wear a 46, this jacket is a 44. On the pictures i only wear a thin t-shirt and the leather is still very stiff. I see what you are referring too. There is some bunching etc going on. However, I’m convinced that this will go away as soon as the seams and leather soften up a bit.

The jacket is relatively heavy since I asked for a “more substantial” hide. It weighs 6.6 pound, which is more than my Boardracer made from black CXL FQHH. The fit jacket was made from Vicenza which was way too light for my taste.

Off course there is not "the one jacket" since taste varies with time. Looking at my other jackets, there is this very small detail that annoys me a little bit, e.g. arm length 0.5 inches too long, jacket bottom a little too wide, insight pocket ordered with the "wrong" closure mechanism. It is...
Below some pictures from the unwrapping. It is always such a special moment. This excitement and inner tension to open the box, not knowing how the jacket will fit and how the modifications turned out. Then there is the moment you open the box and the beautiful smell of CXL reaches your nose and...
That's a great idea! And, I can assure you - it's a beautiful jacket. The only concern I have with lined jackets is that the materials behave differently when washed. Have you ever had an issue with that?
Thanks for all the positive feedback! I can't wait to wear that thing. I had a really hard time this morning putting on a suit and leaving home without the jacket.
The leather is really different from my other two CXL FQHH jackets. It feels more like the leather on my Redwing Blacksmith Copper...
The title says it all. Aero jacket #3 has just made it home and I’m more than satisfied with its outcome. For the first time I went through the highly recommended Thurston Bros fitting process (See discussion related to the fit jacket here) and included learnings from my other two jackets...
As the others mentioned before it depends.
This jacket, a J-106K/King of the Road/Indian Mix Biker Jacket, is a very tasteful combination of various elements and includes some more major changes. Aero did well with satisfying this customer request as the jacket got quite some positive attention...
Wow! That’s truly a beauty! The future owner is pretty excited whether the jacket will also fit as it looks [emoji6]

I agree, they both look like a glove. I guess, I would go with the one more comfortable. Yes, CXL looses its stiffness but it will never become a soft shell jacket. A little room to move is advisable. I have a Ridley in Cordovan CXL. It's definitely on the wider side in terms of fit, but I have...
I don’t understand why they just go ahead an produce a jacket in such “characterful” hide. Obviously it looks very different from what they show on their website when you look up the tumbled CXL and it looks different from what you find when you look here.
It would be so easy to quickly send...
Following the idea of the London Outerwear meetup, I thought we could set up something similar in New York City. It seems there are quite a few people from the wider area.
I selected a little more broadly formulated title to include everyone who has a passion for something "well-made", being...
I really like the rivets that come standard with the hookless zippers to hold the bottom plates in place. Gives a nice edge to the jackets!

Walked by BIG yesterday. I have to say that I like SE way better. BIG has a huge collection of their own jeans, but besides that there was nothing that grabbed my attention. A little too hipster for my taste. I prefer the great selection of e.g. denim jackets, t-shirts etc at Self Edge. Anyways...
