Awesome, thanks for the sizing details! And congrats on finding the perfect fit first try, too. That definitely doesn’t always happen.
I’ve now owned 6 variations of the RMC J-24 (older fit 38, 40, 42, new fit 36, 38, 40) and this older fit 40 is about as close to perfect as I’m going to get...
Never thought I’d let go of this one, but it’s a bit small on me now and I’ve worn it maybe twice over the last couple years so I think it’s time.
These were a limited-run collaborative piece between Schott and now-defunct Context Clothing out of Madison, WI back in 2014. It’s a 1928H (Beck...
Okay cool thanks for confirming.
From what I have gathered then it looks like the leather changed at least by the time the 2021 edition came out. The earlier 2015 and 2018 green label jackets appear to have the same Shinki leather as my older-model J-24. Interestingly enough, the updated fit...
Haha I’ve run into the same problem. Working remote for a year can have disastrous consequences on your physique if you aren’t careful.
Also I just found out that Self Edge has a store 10 minutes from my house here in Portland. I had no idea. If they’ve got this jacket on hand I’ll swing by...
Hey slab, thanks for reaching out. As far as trades are concerned, I’d only be interested in the jackets mentioned above. Outside of that, I’d take $1250 for the jacket. Thanks
I keep coming back to this model jacket and am strongly considering selling my J-24 to get one, though I think the shoulders are too wide for me on the size 40.
Is that the fit issue you’re running into? Other than the shoulders being an inch wider than size 40 J-24, the two jackets have very...
Awesome, nice find. The houndstooth lining in those looks super sharp.
What size did you end up going with? I’m curious how the measurements compare to my J-24.
Hey guys,
So I’ve been having these intrusive TFH thoughts recently and I’m seriously considering trading my J-24 and going back to TFH for a 38 in either a newer model double rider or possibly an older model Delraiser.
Is anybody with one of those jackets interested in switching to a J-24...
Yeah it’s crazy how different the two patterns fit! A 42 in the new version would be comically oversized, like a kid wearing his dad’s jacket.
The interesting part is that the 38 had 2” of ease in the chest, and all of the measurements on paper were just spot on. I fully expected it to fit...
Supposedly to accommodate more body types, they made the body quite a bit roomier, lowered/widened the arm holes, and fully reworked the sleeves. Where the arms in the old model are slim and feel a bit unnaturally pitched forward when at rest and zipped, the new ones have a slight twist/curve to...
Thanks for the reply. The shoulders and length are great on the 38 but the 19” chest is just too narrow for me these days. Ideally I need about 20.25-20.5”.
Hey guys,
So I thought I’d put out some feelers and gauge interest on a possible size swap for this particular model jacket, the BJ9111 J-24.
I absolutely love this jacket and wear it frequently, but a part of me always wishes it were an inch shorter in length with shoulders that were about an...
Yes, this jacket is the BJ21101 J-24.
Probably the quickest way to identify the J-24L is by its western back yolk. Also, the leather tassel pulls on the chest and hand pocket zippers instead of the chain pulls found on the J-24.
Someone listed this J-24L on eBay this morning...
Hi Vincent,
In my experience, The Real McCoy’s published dimensions often vary a bit from their finished product. This is why I always get actual measurements of a particular jacket from the stockist or seller rather than trusting the chart.
My measurements above are accurate, and I can add...
