If the saps are solid that's great. Do we know who made them? Is there a robust YKK equivalent for snaps?
Fit is a strange thing. I agree it is about being specific with what you like - but some things are micro to the point of absurdity. But it's all down to what you can stand, isn't it? I...
I am simply providing feedback to your comments, that's all. You did ask if there was anything you were missing. You need a badass pattern too or the leather won't matter. :D
I have no issues with the back of this jacket and would consider that a good fit if it were mine. I think we can get a bit too obsessed with fit minutia. That said - I'm not crazy about the brass snaps - how are they? Do they feel cheap or solid?
My first Five Stars was a cafe racer - only way to get a $1000 cafe racer fit for $300. Problem with the Lusso cafe racer photos is they mostly look pretty shapeless and in the mall jacket realm, which is definitely not something you want from a cafe racer. They need to be trim and carefully...
Yes, I think you are probably missing something. Five Stars have a demonstrated ability to please very particular leather jackets aficionados here with their pattern making, quality construction and leather. That alone makes them stand out. Lusso hasn't created even a flicker of interest here...
I have no idea what you guys are talking about but it sounds awful. I never go anywhere near nature myself if I can help it so I can't say if those sorts of capers go on here.
Yep, you're right to be pedantic, Scotty.
Thickness is just my preference. However (thick or thin) I don't really notice the heat difference once it gets to 35. I prefer a thick felt with a wide brim so it doesn't flop about in the wind, which is another issue here. Cattleman is a useful...
Yep. They fit ok. I have thin legs. I get 32 waist with a 34 length (I'm six two). I just bought 2 pairs of regular cowboys in black. Far as I can tell they don't do black in rigid.
I don't see any wear or dirt. Have you owned a heavy leather jacket before?
You can wipe it down with warm soapy water - collar and cuffs and any spots of dirt. The leathers should look scratched and scuffed if it is any good. It will weigh a ton if you are not used to a real leather jacket.
As superhero films go Nolan's is a masterpiece. But really Burton provided the style manual for Batman after borrowing the Dark Night Returns noir aesthetic. There has been nothing much new added since Burton. Stylistically all Nolan did was turn down Burton's kitsch factor. Thank God. These...
Even Christopher Plumber supposedly called the film, "The Sound of Mucus". On the money as far as I am concerned. You can find great Shakespearean themes in episodes of Happy Days or Mork and Mindy... :p
I wear a really dark grey Cattleman even when it gets really hot here, like 45 degrees (113). Good thick felt is is the only material I can trust to block sun rays.
The thing about the PI trope is that as a character the PI is actually the last idealist in a world of cynics, the final romantic in a world full of selfish pissants. The PI and Mike Hammer of the series was this, was selfless and generous and could be relied upon - as opposed to everyone else...
I find Capra's films mostly too mawkish and painful to watch.
Stewart was also clearly too old in Vertigo, a tedious movie many people consider to be a masterpiece.
