That's it in a nutshell. For all it's exaggeration, Raiders has solid characterization, the plot is coherent, the tone serious and it's almost believable. In the sequels, the characters become cartoon-like, the humor is misjudged and the franchise is destroyed by hyperbole.
I don't know anything about Belstaff labels, L, but a quick google of this one looks just like others. They are or were made in Italy, why would that be suspicious? It's a zombie brand. Pretty sure someone bought Belstaff off the Italians later on. Maybe they now say,, "Made in Romania."
From Gamma68 posted here somewhere a couple of years back.
Lesco Ltd. was in business from the 1940s to the early 1980s. It was initially based at 10 E. 34th Street, NYC.
The company began making alligator and crocodile handbags and billfolds for upscale shops like Saks 5th Ave., Bonwit...
A couple of things on this. It really hasn't been time to see how any of this material holds up with wear. We will know more in a year or three. Most goatskin people know is chrome tanned and this stays new looking for ages. That said, the Five Stars goat (I have had 4 jackets) is different...
Also known as an M65 jacket in leather. Unfortunatley too big.

That is exactly right and well put. I personally came to the view that Raiders worked despite Lucas and was a kind of mistake. Lucas (and co) accidentally made a masterpiece and could never come near it again. Lucas is like the most successful unsuccessful person in the biz.
Worn, faded, crumpled is my preference. I think the look of a new, clean, shiny leather jacket is ghastly. One reason I used to pop them in the washing machine right away.
How long are the sleeves? That is a tall size and usually the sleeves of these are 28 inches long, so that's worth considering. I think cutting it back 3 to 4 inches might make it look off.
It was a kind of short hand to describe people posting photos of heritage gear worn 'correctly'. No doubt is is not entirely accurate in all cases and maybe a lazy comparison.
Yes, I think it's interesting how tastes have changed here. It used to be mainly A2's. Utility jackets were often worn large. Jackets are now worn smaller and shorter. I'm sure in 10 years things will look different again. It's not as if we are actually going to arrive at a final destination.
Nice one - urbanhippieswe is more my style. I like clothes that are loose fitting. I think Mr P and Jake generally choose really good styles and fits for them. And my gut feeling is that Instagrammers put way more effort into a look than I do. Hell, I have 30 identical black shits and black...
