    As others have said the arms are meant to be big due to the layering of a uniform underneath. Personally I would not put a rank badge on those flaps, I just sewed them down. Cut them off but if you decide to sell it later it ma be a buyer bargaining point you may not be happy with -$$$£££€€€...

    My dad was an old time hat wearer and still wearing it when he went out until his death. He died in the 1970s and I started to wear his, a wide brim 1940s Attaboy that he always referred to as a Trilby.
