I love to ruffle a few feathers so here is a real Cafe Racer (Pronounce if KaFFF Racer to be historically correct, with no ´above the e in Cafe) jacket. A 1969 Belstaff9. It maybe earlier.
Come on chaps, they are all great jackets but this is the real thing:p
All parts of the hide are used, some a little lighter than others I guess Vicenza is usually a lighter hide. I have a Vicenza Horse Thunderbay, it is excellent and will probably be my last zippered jacket, with it's sheep lined body had it been made from Front Quarter it would have weighed a ton...
My 'Call in' to the radio show was promoted by a discussion with workmates on songs so sugary it made listening to them feel like drowning in golden syrup. Among the songs we talked about were: Honey by Bobby Goldsbourgh. Terry Jacks Seasons in the Sun and the previously mentioned Teddy Bear...
There are no problems with it working I just thought it was such an ugly option when the side strap looks so much better in my opinion, humble or whatever.
Am I the only one here that hates the B6 side zips? Both the zips and the waist straps(similar to B3) are historically correct and look so much neater. Eastman will not do them, or would not when I last asked but I am sure other companies would.
I have seen a show similar to 'Botched' here in England though it may have had a different title. Most run to a similar format each show so I only ever watched it once as in every show it is usually the same.
I am one of those who have almost no sympathy for those Fat People shows, unless a...
Yes I guess if there is a potential audience and money can be made the TV producers will say 'Go for it!'
Wow Lizzie that "Queen for a day" really scrapes the barrel. I got into trouble on a Talk about anything Friday late night 'phone in' for complaining about 'Death disc's" on the airwaves. I...
In the past there was good TV and bad as in all era's including these modern days.
Yesterday I viewed a modern program and could not really think why they made it.
Doctor Pimple Popper!
Just why would a TV company make a series about squeezing peoples boils and zits where puss erupts in close...
Ugliest old Yank Tank as we sometimes call them, 1961 Plymouth line up, especially the Fury(which I love by the way).
It looks vaugly like a VW Karmann ghia type 34 fed on radioactive steroids.
I don't know what would be suitable attire for the Fury though, maybe an original Godzilla suit :)
Yes thats an ugly bitch, I didn't think they still made them though.
I love 300SL's but the convertible and in cream with red leather trim rather than silver.
As maybe the starter of this little controversy, basically saying I'm not bothered what I wear or drive I suppose I had better get it out of my system.
As I am not Stephen King(Christine) or Steven Spielberg(Duel) or even whoever wrote that awful script for The CAR, I cannot understand any piece...
And what car would I drive to go with my A2 or otherwise vintage or retro jacket? Basically anything that got me from A to B regularly and got me where I wanted to be on time :)
Hi Edward. A while back I had a copy of Motor Trend from 1957, sorry I cannot remember the month but the first line in the editorial read like this ' Have you noticed that all cars these days look the same'. That may not be a word for word quote but it says just the same as your 'wind tunnel'...
Revive an 'olde' thread.
Known as the Becontree Estate. 10,000 houses almost all identical were built, starting around 1910 but mainly the post war building increased this to around 25,000+ (Source was an old magazine, either Geographica but I think it was the US based National Geographic...
The Boat that Rocked.
A comedy based upon the lives of disc jockeys aboard the pirate radio ships anchored in the North Sea off the English coast during the 1960s when comercial radio was unlawful in the UK.
Not a bad film but rather overlong. What it does make up for is possibly one of the best...
I had one some years back, that too was a Marine Corps issue. It came with a sort of clamp that looked like a toilet seat and kept the brim flat.
These were very popular around the release of the film Full Metal Jacket. The wartime re enacting thing was just really taking off and few enthusiasts...
Are these WWII replicas in the same materials etc? I very rarely criticise members choice of garments but from experience I would say as a despatch rider coat during that era they were great, but wearing it constantly in all weathers they look awful when the weather gets to the material and...
A B3 fit can be quite a problem, by that I mean a historically correct B3 would be shaped to take an A2 and a uniform of smoking as a layer. If you are flying at only 3-6 feet altitude as I do then I wear just a T shirt underneath. That is to say most of us just wear them to walk the dog or play...
Not Connelly hide I'm, afraid, I think they stopped using that 20 years ago. Looks like a nice jacket with virtually no wear, it may have been a present for someone who didn't like it or wrong size etc.
I have one with the same name, looks like Moira.
Your win :)
