I have had a few original Lewis jackets in my time and noticed their bike specific jackets were a lot better leather than used today, especially the Bronx range.
Mentioned here is the Corsair, a semi bike/casual jacket. I had an original version of this around 10 years ago, I loved it though...
Top pic:
A typical fading pop/film star look.
2nd pic:
Nothing special about the jacket but the hat should have gone in the bin. Where did he get it, from the old Grapes of wrath wardrobe collection?
3rd pic:
A simple mess up.
Johnny Depp should have given up leather jackets when he finished...
I used to die one of my old A2s, I used a touch up you could by at a lot of sole and heels stalls. The leather 'paint' used for touching up scuffs would peel off after a short time with some normal wear, some would say rough but getting under cars and working on engines was what I wore mine for...
Nice jacket, though I do prefer a 'Ginger' collar on G1s and their predecessors :)
Is that an old French 25 centime coin you have as a zip puller? I have the 10 and 5 on some of mine but did swap to Civil War era Spanish on one.
Well I mean! It is the #1 leather conditioner on Amazon and whats more you may need to apply it every six months, to new leather. I think I will stick with Ko Cho Line :)
What type of leather are aniline please, is it Horse of just a method of tanning any leather. I have used Ko-Cho on my WWII A2 for years and it has had no il effects yet. Should it fall apart, which I do hope it doesn't , I would put it down to being a very old dead horse that has been worn a...
I have to admit that my sole recommendation for using Ko-Cho-Line is purely based on using it for 30 years without any deterioration to my old Lucky Seven A2. I don't wear the jacket that much now as it is a bit tight, but it did receive a dosing around 2 years ago so is due for another soon...
Yes we all had some great chat on quite a few subject. We had a bit of banter about conditioners, mainly my obsession with Ko-Cho-Line Vs Pecards, a bit on the humorous side I do hope.
I do hope he's ok, but to look on the bright side a lot of members leave forums for whatever reason, even I...
That last sentence just about sums up everything about old leather Mr P, be it a 70 year old wartime jacket, a vintage weekender bag an old car seat and even your lady friends old vintage handbag. We don't want these items to look like new we just want them to preserve that fabulous look old...
Here I go again promoting MY favourite leather dressing, good old Ko-Cho-Line.
Why I have used this product and why do I value it's use above most other conditioner/dressings. When I purchased my first original wartime A2 way back in 1983(I still have it) it was still in a great wearable...
Has anyone re finished a modern repro sheepskin such as an Eastman B3 or ANJ4 ? I am wearing my 25 year old ANJ4 and the surface has decidedly flaked off rather a lot.
Eastmans site and catalogues from a while back insisted their finishes were just like original but they do not wear like an...
Gone through a load this weekend, just trying on to see if they all still fit but today it is down to Eastman B3 which I sat scrunched up watching tv while wearing. So super warm I usually just doze off and miss what I was watching.
Was wearing today(Sunday) but taken off as to bulky for my...
I have read the book as well, it comes across as a series of short stories rather than a novel. The film being classified in English as a Kitchen Sink Drama, meaning a more realistic down to earth look at life with all its troubles, laughs, highs and lows including controversial subjects such as...
Up the junction, a great film with quite a harrowing abortion scene. Not really a rocker film though Ruby's boyfriend Terry dies on his bike(am I correct) 'The handle bars went right through his chest' Filmed in Clapham, Clapham Junction being 1/4 of a mile south(Falcon Road) from where Ken...
:p Great answer Protein, let me explain!
I love bikes and riding them and though I take my motorcycling seriously, I tend to post here in a more light hearted mood than others. Where as some take all questions seriously, personally if you need to know which breed of horse your jacket is made...
Just a note :)
You really need to revers this photo as the reflection makes your jacket look like it is meant for the female figure as a woman's cross zip(Lancer) zip, pulls up to her left shoulder.
I only wore a bike jacket twice without the bike, I felt a bit of a poser otherwise.
I have worn other non bike jackets out on bikes though, my original A2 and replica's too, B3, Levis trucker, Eastman Luftwaffe, Original B15, MA1's G1's M422A, probably overtype of jacket I own. My worst...
