Elton John! Why oh why, when so called celebrities have so much money they cannot really get a decent look.
Elton John: The worst hair transplant in the world, it looks modelled from a male dolls head.
Simon Cowell: Designer stubble does not work for this man, try Don Johnson or a young George...
I have just checked the Eastman website and the jacket is actually named 'Ostmann' so apologies for that little mistake. Luftwaffe mind you is correct even for the modern German airforce.
I see Dr Swatland isn't around these days or he may have come down on me with a vengeance, maybe even the...
The pocket layout is similar to the Luftwaffe which is why I asked and Noblehouse do make a few Eastman lookalikes so the padding you mention threw me slightly. Still, it's a nice jacket.
The older Eastmans are great but have a pleated back, also the shoulders tend to be a bit wide, then...
Is that an Eastman Luftwaffe? Quite a nice jacket for the vintage biker look. But Eastman or Aero don't put anything in the slash pockets or it may get sucked out as my wallet did some time back.
If you are a bit of a fashionista like me with bike gear I would get some matching gloves but then...
The original post is what it is all about as my favourite changes daily.
For most of the winter outside wear was an original Woolrich from the late 60s to 70s. It was warmer than most padded jackets on general sale and I could layer up if necessary. At home I would lounge around in a Eastman B3...
I sold something on eBay and was left positive feedback. they may even refund him without needing to return the item, yes you read that correct. As I said, I sold the item, buyer and I left positive feedback, then 6 months down the line the buyer told them it was bought with an unauthorised...
That is probably what all those non biker actors buy. To someone who has been around old jackets for a while, fake so called patina can be spotted a mile off. All those Eastman's made to look old can also be spotted a mile off even if regularly roughly worn. Those old replica original makers...
Neat hat Mr Jones, not sure I can carry a high crown off though. I have a 40s 50s Borsalino that is a bit Howard Hughe's ish but not sure about the crown. Neat prop too, though mine would probably contain tea :)
PS What happens if you wash stretch jeans in too hot water, do they go baggy etc
At present I am on the lookout for an unconstructed linen suit in the UK. Is unconstructed the correct description for a minimal lined suit? I like my own term for it, I describe the slightly off white jacket as a "Man From Del-Monte suit" all topped off with a nice, really nice that is, Panama...
Washing a leather jacket may sound ok as they usually survive a rainstorm, but you could end up with a great looking jacket and maybe a not so great looking wavy zip? Even a cool wash can shrink the cotton tape. I know as I speak from experience
:(
Sorry J, I just don't get the scruffy look, there are worn in jeans and worn out, like old leather jackets and other apparel, to me there is a dividing line between rubbish and cool but worn ripped out jeans and hats on sideways or back to front do not come into it and neither do jeans hanging...
In England back in the early 1990s I found a shop selling Made in USA 501 'shrink to fit' Levi's(XX?). All the oldsters out there told me that they would get in the bath wearing them. Me, I ignored there advice and bought 33waist when I took a 32, chucked them in the bath without me in them with...
Just watched Seven Nights in Japan.
Looks like it was a straight rip off of Roman Holiday but set in Japan :( but did I miss something? How did the Yakuza type assassins get into the story?
On the upside it did show Tokyo and the countryside as it was over 40 years ago :)
I had thought it a bit strange about the Honda, but then Japan was coming out of it's post WWII disaster and wanted to show the world what they were capable of, hence the Honda may have been a little product placing as they say these days.
Around the early 1960s we had Kyu Sakamoto singing the...
SACRILAGE! I have just noticed the big E is riding a Honda. Surely that makes it less valuable the a piece of the jacket he wore riding his Harley Davidson!
If it was a scam, how could you prove it? If it was legitimate how could you prove it? Even if the had a signed letter from the dead Pres himself how could you prove it unless the original had a noticable blemish that shows in photo's of Elvis wearing it?
If I got some similar old horse that...
What am I wearing today? Hmmmm(he looks out of window) No jacket this morning, it's going to be sunny and rather warm, but later when I'm on the bike it will change to a Dianese armoured mesh.
No photo's as it's too boring for here, just thought I would say to make those a little envious if it...
I have not seen either the Irvin rero or original jackets topics posted in for ages. The repro page was June last year and the original only 4 posts since November.
A profilic member who has lots of information knowledge and a fair collection(Mr Swatland) has not posted here for a while nor...
I have a near mint one, no badges or road rash. Best one I have ever had and it almost fits me :(
I really like the style as an alternative to the Lewis but the long life is not there if I wore it regularly. I'm loosing a bit of weight so it may fit eventually, you never know.
There is a lot...
