I totally get what you mean about the goat. My first jacket was their ubiquitous 3oz steer aniline and it was super comfy and felt luxurious to the touch despite how durable it was with a proven track record. Then I went down the rabbit hole and I lost appreciation for it. Now I'm sorta back out...
Lol, yeah the Aero Midnight Blue CXL is amazing, practically black. I'm a bit of a whore for blue, my concern is that as it ages and fades it conjures up memories of cheap jeans whose color ran after washing.
In any rate, I finally had a chance to wear my CXS jacket over the weekend and while...
Having a skived CXL and a CXS, the CXS is definitely more pliable and softer, the CXL still has more crunch to it which I'm sure will break in. I'd say the CXS has almost the same amount of character but not quite, but the trade off is easy.
Lol. You know what, I was thinking about that, lots of people achieve the fades and patina without any sort of special routine. In any rate, like we talked about, people can really go deep into the weeds and forget that at the end of the day, these are garments.
Sounds like we're on the same page. Most high end jeans will say hand wash in cold water, air dry, at most will say gentle cold wash and air dry. In my experience, the dryer is where stuff usually gets jacked up.
Come to think of it though, to be fair, I think all jeans say that on their care...
Agreed, regarding the material of denim. However, I was more referring to the build quality, I've seen enough seams split, loose threads, etc, those high end jeans aren't meant for machine wash and dryer, they even say so when you buy them. It's like hey it's rugged work wear, but treat it like...
Man that's a sweet jacket, didn't know I could buy something like off the rack, lol. If it fits, and you like the way it looks on you, I'd say go for it. Regarding leather quality, lots of jackets that actually get used for more than posing on social media have uniform or smooth grain, but have...
I'm only on the second season, great show, becoming one of my favorites.
Yeah, they got a ton of these in their store, just never thought about it since all I was looking at were crosszips and car/chore coats.
Talk about timing, I've been watching alot of Sopranos lately (based in the 90s and aughts), and I've been kicking around the idea of doing a jacket in this style. They don't wear jackets exactly like this in the show, but similar with the shirt collar straight zip but way oversized ala 90s. The...
Take one look at our housing prices relative to crime rate, income, and cost of living and I'm sure what ever envy you may have, will quickly diminish lol.
Yes the steer cxl is much more pliable than the HH, and my hh is skived on top of that. The masaye is pliable to the point you don't even have to think about it.
Yeah JL is not a huge place with a fulltime dedicated customer service person let alone staff, but they do typically respond to emails. When in doubt, give them a call, they're extremely accommodating.
Lurk from time to time, I think I got all the jackets I ever need at this point.
My jackets are languishing in my closet, CA weather doesn't afford much opportunity to wear them so they haven't changed much.
