    IMO it depends on the leather. Some leather like the bookbinder leather came already coated with pores sealed like Monitor said. Some like the CXL came with lots of oil pressed into it that adding a coat is going to significantly altered characteristic of the leather. I'd not apply water...

    Correction. A tag size 48 should be a modern size 44 because it has 46' p-to-p. I guess I am too used to Japanese sizing.

    Measurement completely off. Now I can pretty much confirm these 50s Bucos is only one size down from the tag size.

    Chest is 2-3 inches too wide. Shoulder and length not too bad. Sleeves also too wide. I will try it again wearing a sweater underneath come winter.

    The one I posted is currently in the possession of a Taiwanese collector. He is planning another exhibition in Taipei and he usually posts some of the rare gems as a preview. He also posted a Buco J1. Not JH1, not J21 but a J1.
