I have just been to the Clutch Cafe a few days ago, they have this small area with a bench and a few seats. Lewis and Rivets should be easy as there is Fitzroy or Rising Sun just round the corner if you fancy a pint. There's also coffee at the Sharps Barber shop almost next to Rivet and hide. As...
Vacuum cleaning jacket lining, yes, jeans? No.
The dust particles, especially at home and on your clothes, are mainly made by by the skin that you shed every single minute. "According to a 2011 study published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology, we shed between 0.03 and 0.09g of...
This is my size 40 Lightning after 8yrs of causal wearing. It is the standard cut, not the 'T' slim version, which they originally only offer to the Japanese market.
I think double breast biker jackets are always a timeless design. It is a bit like the MA-1 bomber which has been very popular in the past 5years in the fashion scene, but slowly cooling down a bit this season. In terms of double breast bikers, you can always find them in the ladies' fashion...
I need to dig out the pictures some where.... Yes, I guess in the 70s' where the original Lewis were mostly made with cowhides. Horsehide just made a come back a few years ago thanks to the Japanese and the A-2 popularity. I do not think the cowhide breaks-in easier than horse, particularly with...
I have touched the LL sheep jackets, they are not exactly thin nor fragile. But I absolutely agree, original cowhide is the way to go for a Lewis jacket. My 391 is the good old cowhide, the leather is so good that.... after over 8 years of casual wear, it still looks new..... I bet that a lot of...
Wow, you fellows are really giving Zeltbahn a crash course on hides and leather jackets.
My take on this is a bit different, as you are young, you certainly would want something more 'fashionable'. Hence I would go for the Lewis. If you have ever handled the Aero's and ELMCs jackets, they are...
I think you will find both, some patches are even just painted directly on top of the leather. I would think at the time of the war, some pilots simply sewed their own patches on while some might go to their local tailor shops instead. There was no strict regulation I believe in the 1940s.
I bought a couple of Bronson denim shirts and jeans, one of them is a pair of wabash selvedge, I would say it is of very good quality. Make sure you check their exact measurements and whether they are using sanforised denim or raw, shrink to fit denim before you place your order.
The reason why I watched those two Vanilla Sky movies was because of the other Cruise, Penelope to be exact, who starred in both films.
Judging from some of the news about mainland Chinese students attacking their Hong Kong university mates who were marching for the recent extradition...
The fact that the Chinese audiences are very sensitive in these minor details, and it can turn a billion dollar blockbuster into a flop within one day. I don't think any film producers would want that to happen. Like Blackadder said, it looks good as we haven't seen a Chinese actor/actress in...
Isn't that Maverick inherited the jacket from his father who also served as a NAVY pilot? There's loads of nostalgia in the trailer the music, the jacket, the old GPZ900r and even the F-14 at the end, which we probably won't see in the final movie. At least we saw Tom Cruise wearing the new CWU...
Well, what do you expect from the Chinese involvement. Money talks these days, and they have plenty (more than plenty). I am pretty shocked that no Chinese extra is in the casting, yet to be shown? I wonder when it will be time for the Chinese market to move on as they are starting to make their...
Psychologically, leather smell may actually promote the sense of 'luxury'. Most people associate the scent of (new) leather with high-end products, such as leather bags, leather jackets, leather shoes as well as leather seats in new cars.
Check out these bizarre products out here and here...
Like I said in some previous threads, since they switched to a barcode scanning system for tracking packages, the chance of being taxed is very high even for small packages and anything under £20 (I think the VAT free limit is between £15-£18?). The most frustrating thing is that you need to pay...
As I remember, there are options on Ebay which allow the seller to calculate the import-tax and custom in advance for some countries. I am not sure if this option is still available as I rarely see that in the shipping details outside of the UK these days.
There should be courier companies...
