    I think the potbelly effect most likely has to do with the bottom front panels, in that photo you can clearly see them causing a bulge out where the top front panels rest on top of them.

    +1 for Blackrock, it’s a light conditioner and has enough wax to restore some sheen. Use a horsehair brush afterward and you’re golden.

    The ‘35 illustration isn’t as clear but it does seem to have the Cossack-style low side straps and possibly the side gussets but it’s hard to say for sure. Features were sometimes played up or not depending on the space the item got it seems.

    Leather jackets that don’t quite fit

    This older Allen Leathers jacket (defunct brand from Japan) is about a size too small. I still wear it, wearing it today, but zipping it up is pretty form fitting. Thankfully the leather is soft: Today’s bad fit pic:
