Crazy! I saw some with those pointed flaps running for 900 to 1200 $, and not all from Japan (they go crazy with prizes), but also from the US. Whereas those with straight pocket flaps go for much less. The Hamburgian sells them for about 500 €. I saw US ebay sellers asking from 60 to 160 $. My...
funny, my first Deck Jacket was the same kind of deck work jacket, but from the German Navy, when I served. Could not stand moisture but was flame resistant. And it was a hell to pull things out of the pockets. It was like this one:
The A2 Deck Jacket came in use in the 1960s and stayed in service until the late 1970s, early 1980s. As far as I know there are no noticeable differences between the 1960s and the 1970s/1980s made ones. There are differences to the older N-1, of course. For example the lining is made from a wool...
Here is one of his A2 Deck Jackets. You can see the condition is near mint! And it has the real alpaca pile instead of the flat liner. It is the same pile than in N-1s! It is from the Vietnam Era. Size compares to modern M. I bet it would fit you. Chest 120 cm, shoulder 48 cm. Length 70 cm. It's...
There are original A2 Deck Jackets on ebay right now from a seller from Hamburg. He is a very nice guy and a collector. His jackets are in very good condition. A2s are very good alternatives! I like the olive drab colour and the outer pocket very much! It is a very cool jacket! Relica N-1s are...
Unfortunately there is no shop or store in Europe that sells Bronson. There is one ebay shop where you can buy safely from. The seller is in China but very reliable. It is something like vtgdr store or the like. You will stumble upon him when searching for Bronson Deck Jacket. The seller - Lee -...
Pike Brothers:
la taglia M sarà troppo grande per te..probabilmente...
Bronson:
la taglia L si adatterà perfettamente.
You have pretty much the same upper body dimensions than me. I find the new Pike Brothers N-1 in size M too bulky. Bronson in size L fits me very well.
As for your plans...
I'd listen to Breezers advice.
I really dig N-1's. But the prize tags some brands put on these are sometimes exaggerated for what it is. It is a winter jacket. The outer is a simple cut fabric called "Jungle Cloth", which is nothing more than a tight woven bedford cloth. The inner is sometimes a...
Looks outstanding! Thanks for the review and the fit pics as well! This Deck Jacket is fitting you extremely well.
sometimes I think, that I would prefer if my N-1 had quilted arms, too. All my long-sleeves ride up while I put mine on. I have to pull them down each time. The sleeve lining is...
You have to be aware, that "Z" stands for "zipper front" and "B" for "buttoned front". I always prefer the buttoned front in most pants since I had a look in a mirror after I had just finished a two hours long guided tour which I lead, just to find all my horses had fled my stable and no one to...
not sure about that. But I think there is even a white selvage line made from white oak cone mills selvage denim stock still sold in the US. There is a lot of stuff from the hq Lee lines. I guess you simply have to look for Lee and selvage per google to find out who sells which of them in and...
I am not sure but think that Lee and Lee can be two different things. There is a Lee line with hq japanese and italian denims out there. I think you had your eye on one of those!
I just want to support Kubatus suggestion. I think N&F Strong Guy is an excellent alternative to look at when on the hunt for a pitch black jeans. I have worn N&F for a while some years ago and remember that I was very pleased. Haven't considered them for too long now.
