    Edwardian Fabric Choice

Hello all! I'm an intermediate tailor, recreating and Edwardian cutaway suit. What they would considered semi-formal day wear. Not quite a morning coat, but not quite a sack coat. Business frock coat, English walking frock. Etc etc.. I have an Oxford grey twill in a rough texture at my...

    WTB TOP HAT 7 3/4

Where in this godforsaken world can I find a good black plush top hat, in 7 5/8 or 7 3/4 for less than $300? New, repro , vintage. I don't care so long as it's not wool. Or am I just delusional?

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I wanted to show my summer outfit from the Manhattan Vintage Show the other day as technically my soon-to-be suit is just the jacket worn as a sport coat at the moment. I made the jacket using drafting manuals from 1916-19, and the detachable collar, necktie and cuffs. I found a pre tied collar...

    Suits - Pre 1920

Dusting off this old thread to show my summer outfit from the Manhattan Vintage Show the other day. I made the jacket using drafting manuals from 1916-19, and the detachable collar, necktie and cuffs. I found a pre tied collar stud tie that was in abysmal shape and picked it apart for the...

    1910s Summer Clothing Help

I'm in the process of making myself a simple 1910s linen summer suit, and I'm not sure if I'll have enough fabric left for trousers. I can't get any more of this fabric, and I don't have a pattern for plus fours or jodhpurs (nor would they be flattering on me). What I'm looking for is visual...

    Pre 1940s dress hats

I took a risk at $24 on what's either a 7 US or a 7 Punti early 20th century Borsalino. It appears to be Punti. Out of Romania, and it appears to have been sold there originally, too.

    The Green Machine

Anybody ever see a dark green hat from the 1920s or Teens? Like, DAAAARK emerald green, not brown-green or grey-green? I've only ever seen newer ones that color, but I'd like to know for certain.

    The Green Machine

All the time, I see 1920s fedoras in an almost St Patrick's Day green in adverts from the era. But I personally have never seen one that color in real life. Has anybody seen a dark green hat from the 1920s? (I HAVE seen some from the '40s-'50s but not yet the '20s)
