Pretty progressive for a Cavanagh. Almost makes me wonder. But it has the Cav edge and the liner is stitched in. Obviously that doesn't guarantee anything but I can only go by the details presented. Full specs posted here in the Cavanagh Club thread.

I've been kicking around doing one of these but then I would know exactly just how many jackets I actually have. A hard number is a bit more sobering than the ambiguous "more than I really need."
With the plastic liner tip and the block depth still being included on the manufacturing tag I'd suspect the 50s. Always nice to snag a find at the antique store!

That crease is not a fold line nor is the hat associated with the store Optimo of Chicago. That is an Optimo style crease and it's a characteristic of a traditional block used to form Panama hats:
I believe the white color is due to a bleaching process used during the construction of the hat...
