I would go for the regular tartan. Not unreasonaybly warm, sturdy and versatile. Go for cotton sateen in the sleeves, so you don´t get stuck. No itch that way, too.
The barnstormer is a tank of a jacket by itself, so a more hefty lining may not be a big issue, but personally I don´t like to add...
You got me! I am not much of a "patina thunderdome" fan. I don´t wear the shirt in foul weather. I could in terms of craftmanship and insulation (the liner!), but I just don´t look to accelerate aging.
That said: the pictures TJ posts about his beaten down shirts do look super! I especially...
Looks super!
I have the indigo version, and sized as you did: one up from my normal preferences. They do run small in the chest.
As to "shaket": it sure is a very substantial piece (the indigo one is said to be 1,3mm), but I view and wear it as a western shirt. Not that it mattes much.
I did...
Very nice!
I love the horsehide Eastman uses. Not the most heavyweight but so nice and subtle!
As to the collar; yeah, they are like this. It will look better with wear. You may leave it buttoned for a while to help find its natural ciurve.
Can´t do better than Eastman for an A2 (as much as I...
Full measurements are on the "The Shop" webpage. very accurate to, in my experience...!
Personally, I did size up one on my usual Y2-size on the Chore-Coat.
Oh! Congrats!
Something else, entirely!
I saw them on the "Kentaurus" Insta and also the price. I was very intrigued, but I don´t quite like the colour and also the rather intricate contrast stitching. All and all, I wasn´t convinced about the aging potential when exposed to rough weathers...
Haha, do count me in both categories… :D.
I should have included a smiley in my original comment. I am not telling anybody what (not) to wear. I am not a shorts guy by any means, but to each their own, of course.
Thank you! I too like how it fits you. A perfect, everyday, very versatile fit. This confirms what @Will Zach says, and I shouldn’t size up on this.
I never thought a trucker jacket would appeal to me, but the indigo Y2 Type 1 is my grab and go in these „on the brink of too warm“ late summer...
To the many, many owners of the "Maverick":
How is sizing in this one? Is it more in the "size up" category of the "E"/Highwayman-range", or one from the "one down" league, like say the model B?
Asking for a friend...
The Shop Vancouver has the measurements for this on their homepage.
This jacket doesn´t wear huge, but it´s not small-small either. I have a 44 and I would say, as compared to say LL, Aero etc. it´s something like a "43".
Best to look at the numbers, but if in doubt, I would size up one.
Thanks for sharing!
Upon reading, my mind is flooded with images galore. The family-friend described sounds like a character straight out of a Cormack McCarthy novel (think "Border trilogy").
From a time long lost that always leaves a strange longing although we know that the "good old times"...
Big congrats! Super beautiful execution of the jacket, colour could hardly look nicer. Most important, you absolutely nailed the fit!
Now, go and find some real trousers, and nothing can beat the looks! ;)
